Re: Formatting Floppies with Akai s2000

I had some issues with an Akai S2800 disk drive.
The head was not able to reach the disk. I put at little pressure
On the head to get it to reach the disk, and that helped
You must be very careful if You do this not to brake anything.

I agree but You have a better view of the patch
With an editor. You do not need one;-)

Re: Casio cz 101 programming / editor

You Can use the front panel of the cz, however
it is easier to edit the envelopes with an editor.
Check out coffeeshop editor. I have it because some
Of the buttons on my cz does not work.

Re: Going price for a JX-3P and PG-200

You do not program a Jx-3p from scratch. You edit a preset sounds. There is no init mode like the DX-7
So You have to change the battery.

I have had one years ago, and it is a great synth. Nice warm sound. ;-)

Re: iOS Samplers

NOT to my knowledge.
Wanted something like an akai sampler, but just for trying out ideas, as I have hardware samplers. Just thought it would be easy with a Real screen and more intuitive.

Re: DX7 no sound (i think it's not the Battery)

Have You changed the battery.
Data Will be garbish if the memory backup is gone.
I would change it and dump sounds to it via sysex
and try again to see if it had helped.

Re: Why is the CZ101 not considered a classic?

I have a cz-1000 and I have had a JX-3P. I Think the Casio is very capable of analog sounding. The sound is Very different from the DX Imo but Can do DX like sounds. For a digital synth I Think it sounds warm. Now we live In the digital age and everybody wants analog synthesizers. Back In the 80' th...

Re: what is a good starting synth?

Thats monophonic not a poly synth Most analog today is mono and more expensive than a digital synth. The boutique series from Roland is poly and digital, but should sound really great close to the Real deal. The jupiter module calle JU-06 should be in Your Price range and is the most expensive in th...

Re: Mainstage and Yamaha DX7

I run metaplugin and use dexed. Mostly in my apple GarageBand. I should be possible to just open metaplugin and load dexed into that. Remember to connect the 2 sound vires and midi vire all are virtual vires Then it should work. I guess You use a midi kbd to control it. By the Way dexed is free. Mos...
