Re: EPS Classic No audio out of left side

one of the parts suppliers finally obtained a main board. I put it in the machine. after a day of tracing down a keyboard issue, I'm back in business. Note to the wise: The early contact boards in the EPS keyboard have some very weak wires bridging the two. I had to resolder most of them. Guess I pu...

Re: Prophet VS

OP. If you want that sound (Prophet VS) without getting an actual Prophet VS, in my opinion ,the Waldorf Microwave (original) would probably be the closest in sound. The original Microwave apparently came in 2 revs & one of them has the same filters as the Prophet VS ,(though apparently the Prophet...

Re: Limitations E-MU ESI 2000 vs software SF2

Interested in the responses, here. I just picked an ESI2000 for $20, with full memory upgrade. I've sampled in a few things & it seems to work great. 128mb is way beyond what I'm accustomed to, as well. Cool old machines.

Re: Prophet VS

the VS is a really special synth. the TG33 and wavestation are both vector synths too, and both are worth having if you're into vector synthesis, but they're no replacement for a VS. we just got 2 VS keyboards and will probably keep one of them to use along with the rack in our studio, since editin...

Re: E-MU ESI2000 Internal Drive install

Sort of a fix, here. The AKAI S2000 works with the Jaz 1gig & the Jaz 2gig. The E-MU ESI2000 only works with the Jaz 1gig So I put my 2gig jaz over there & got the ESI2000 to work with the Jaz 1gig. The trick to get the E-MU ESI2000 to work with the Jaz 1gig, is to turn off termination & set it to a...

Prophet VS

I've had this hidden dark obsession for a long time now & it's surfacing. Sequential Circuits Prophet VS. I've looked into other Vector Synths & they just don't seem to have the same sound. My searches come up fruitless when I try to find if a clone is made. Does anyone build one? Was the VS rare? I...

Re: E-MU ESI2000 Internal Drive install

My Jaz drives won't work with it so, the zip was sort of my next possibility. I didn't realize they made an IDE & a SCSI drive for the internal drives. It must be an IDE. I found tutorial online but it didn't include enough info on the ribbon cable. The ESI2000 has a 50 pin connection on the motherb...

E-MU ESI2000 Internal Drive install

I picked up this ESI2000 for nothing, basically. It's memory is fully expanded & is super clean. I have an external drive for it but, I have an internal Zip that I'd like to install so that it can be confined & really portable. Honestly, I don't even know if the drive works but, I'd like to give it ...

Re: EPS Classic No audio out of left side

I bridged the capacitor & the resistor before it & i have both sound in both ears. Still louder on the right but panning a bit evens it out. Not perfect but I can't seem to trace anything with the layout, the way it is, & my lack of knowledge. Probing the capacitor with a plastic probe did nothing. ...

Re: EPS Classic No audio out of left side

The 34085 & another under are on top of a raised circuit board. one is removable with a puller & the other, soldered into the board. here is a link https://www.instagram.com/p/BUPDUn1lT-h/?taken-by=hydedbaker The multiplexors must be buried under this board but, I can't tell. Tough to trace, the way...

Re: EPS Classic No audio out of left side

I wish it did. I put it all back together last night & tried to make heads or tails of it. Multiplexor? I don't see anything marked 4053. There are a couple motorola chips marked 34085. Half the board is buried under the keys, though. There is certainly a parallel circuit for the right hand side & i...

Re: EPS Classic No audio out of left side

The confusing part is that when I put the ohm meter on it, it acts as if there is nothing there. If I do this to other capacitors on the board, of similar style, I get a reading.

Re: EPS Classic No audio out of left side

Does anyone have the schematic? There are definitely markers under the components. There are many of these "capacitors"(thats what I'm going to call them for the moment) on the board. If you have the schematic, marker C48 & C26 also have the same looking capacitor. C48 has a marking of "RSA 104".
