Don't overlook Doepfer. People tend too because of the bland grey looks, but they are very nice modules! Also don't get too caught up in fancy modules, remember the simple utility modules such as mixers, multiples... as you expand you will need them. adding another VCO and envelope is a great idea s...

What about the JX-3P? You can transpose on the fly, you can play over top of your sequence provided you have extra voices. The only thing going against it is a bad interface (solved with the PG-200) and only 1 envelope.

Aha! the LED's randomly came back on. I guess that just about confirms a bad connection which should be an easy fix, and again, thanks.

I don't own a Roland G-800, but as long as it has a midi in, you will be able to control it from another keyboard with a midi out. Personally, if I had a synth with broken keys, I would just replace them.

JX-3P LED's Failing
A few days ago, I picked up a JX-3P, at first all the LED's lit up normally but within a day, four of them died out. I have heard that the buttons are sealed tactile switches and that I would need to buy an entirely new switch assembly, and thus have been hesitant to take apart the synth and attempt...
