Basically it is a ESTONIA-021-1 loudspeaker box, but I swapped out those 30 year old elements and its passive crossover. Now it is with Visaton, Daytona and HiWi dr...

Re: How do you get over the feeling of wanting to try so man

I think that why not to place this thread somewhere sticky. G.A.S is something which is familiar to everyone here, right? :) This situation is certainly where it is best possible choice to get help from here, (instead of psycholog or psychiatrist). And also lets cover other aspects of the G.A.S. as ...

Re: OB-6/Prophet-6/Jupiter 6

In a store I now tried the Prophet 6 and Oberheim 6 side by side. I compared both of them by trying on them to get the same sound and how they differ, how close it can get, by the brass sound and all onboard effects switched off. With basic tones, sounding the same, but they seem to be somewhat diff...

Re: Behringer Deep Mind 12

Interesting... I wonder when the Behringer gets idea to make a clone of the Roland Jupiter 8 or MKS-80 or other VCO synths and if they really can then beat the price of the old vintage synthesizers with their product.
Or they have that in plan already?

Re: change out batteries before they die or wait? (answered)

Those which are prone to leak I would recommend to check it and swap (Also Roland M16C and M64C cartridges). And another hilarious thought what I wrote about before in other Juno thread: If You are lazy about backups then put TWO battery holders instead of one and connect them in parallel. The thing...

Re: JX-3P power supply repair

Are they shorted inside? Perhaps thats the reason why the fuses blow? The capacitors really go old so th...

Re: Converting something from 220v to 110v...

there are also R-core 30W transformers available (ca 20USD with shipping from china) with several different secondary voltages and have both 110V and 230V mains. Have someone tried those? My guess is that it is not so far away from the original transformer which has 9V+9V and 15V+15V secondary Windi...

...without using a step transformer, is it possible to do / advisable / not worth the risk? I know the knowledge on these units is few and far between but my Simmons SDSV brain runs at 220v and I've been using a step up transformer with it all along. It was more a curiosity of what is involved in c...

Re: Kawai PS-101U AC power adapter alternative

if You can then measure the voltage while the synthesizer is turned on. With some adapters You may also select 12V (the PSU voltage drop under the load) IF You find that the selected at 9V output produces large amounts of hum (it can be explained that the voltage regulators inside the synth does not...
