Re: Behringer about to release six (!) new synths

Well hope they are legit, I think they are since they posted a tease photo of an MS 101. Look forward to the ARP 2600 reissue and the MS 101 as the first ones on my buy list. Don't know why in the world they would clone the MS-20 if Korg has already cloned one themselves.

Midiverb II problems

Recently bought a used Midiverb and found out it has some problems: half of the programs make a screech tone when the output knob is turned up, some of the non screeching programs turn quiet when the mix control is turned clockwise. The overload light is usually on for long periods of time. The only...

Opinion: Best or favorite Midiverb?

There were four Midiverbs made by Alesis, all very similar, some with improvements over others. Which one is your guys' favorite and which one do you think is the best? Does each one excel at a particular effect or have a more special sound? Or are they of any relevance today?

Thanks,

Which rom carts came with the Yamaha DX7 out of the box?

I was curious as to which ROM cartridges came with the Yamaha DX7 if someone were to purchase it brand new in 1983. Which ones were packaged in the box? I think it was #1 and #2? Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Re: A-ha - Take on Me - Roland Juno 106

The JU-60 and the JU-106 have a very similar sound architecture, so creating the signature Take on Me lead patch would be possible and not too difficult. The bassline in the song I believe might be patch 15 BASS 1 fed through a chorus on the DX7 factory patches.

Victory Run '86 Italo Disco

Hey guys, A simple and short improv I recorded quickly to sound like the 80's Italo Disco tracks of the day. It was played on a Roland Juno 106 and JX8P, Korg DW8000, and Alesis SR 16. Some eq's were done with some limiting. Let me know what you think. -Nathan https://soundcloud.com/user-127025292/v...

Re: How to create Korg M1 House piano sound on Kurzweil K200

Thanks for replying, that was how I created the M1 Piano 16 patch. The factory program 42 Bright Piano sounded somewhat similar to the M1 Piano and used the HI Freq simulator block in the algorithm. So I mainly shortened the envelope mostly the attack to match the punchy and plasticky sound of the m...

Re: Is it worth getting a DX7 Mk1?

Well it can't hurt to have a DX7 in your synth collection. It always has a place in any composition or recording. A distinctive classic FM sound. How much is it selling for? Any problems with it? Try not to pay more than $300 for a perfectly working one. You might be able to get an employee discount...

Re: What's a good price for a Korg Polysix today?

I would not pay more than 600€, of course fully working and in very good condition. Sounds very good and its a lovely vintage synth, but is very limited and sooner or later it turns into a issues factory. Well said. Couldn't agree with you more. The Polysix shouldn't be so pricey, nor should any vi...

Re: New solo recording: Morning Lights

It sounds good, I like it! The style is very familiar and warming. Almost nostalgic, simple and 80's sounding. The parts and verses come together well. Which synths and recording software did you use to record?

Feel free to take a look at some of my recordings.

Re: Help!!! I'm curious, searching dor new synth.

Kind of what I need... A midi controller that could "steal" the vsts and then keep them in its internal memory to play live or outside without using a pc. I reviewed the akai.. pretty cool but it's expensive. Which other synth could do that?? Which ither options do I have?? Thanks :) Well the synth...

Re: Gotta Catch Em All (Pokemon theme) '80s cover

It sounds great! Really captured the high energy and beat of the theme song. Feels like I'm back to my childhood. Looks like you've recorded it in analog with the multi track tape recorder? Sounds great nonetheless.

Re: New Roland Boutique.

It looks really awesome, looks like Roland put in a lot of work int it. The fact that original D-50 patches can work with it and it's got a 64 polyphonic sequencer with an arpeggiator. The DCB Digital Circuit Behavior looks like a good digital recreation of an originally digital synthesizer. Origina...
