1st gen DX7 Battery Holder installation how to?

Hi guys, I recently purchased a first gen DX7 for $80 which I believe needs a new battery; I've chose to install the battery holder but after purchasing some CR2032 holders, I've come to the conclusion that the holders I bought won't fit. I believe that a wire can be soldered from the non fitting ho...

Re: Opinions on upcoming TR-808 and SH-101 Boutiques

What many people say of these boutiques is that they are "a vst in a little box" which is in many ways true considering the digital recreation of them. If the SH 101 boutique was a true analog recreation tuned to sound like the original, I'd buy it in an instant. The two ribbon controllers are stupi...

Re: 80's Synth Pop

Unfortunately I don't have the capability to do midi note data too much since I don't have a DAW (dang it), I use old school Audacity. I would best set the quantize to 100% on the K2000 sequencer and the note grid to 1/8th notes since the bass and chord sequence are in eighth notes. Or even rerecord...

Re: Can sound cartridges go bad?

I'm thinking it's the ESQ-1 flaking out. I plugged in a Voice 1 cartridge which recently worked fine. This time I noticed some of the sound titles were funky, and the title of the first sound on cart A was blank. Tried it and no sound. When I selected the second sound, the title erased except for t...

Re: Opinions on upcoming TR-808 and SH-101 Boutiques

The SE-02 looks pretty cool, definitely something new that Roland hasn't really done before since the interface doesn't look too much like a Roland, just the over all style of the synth-and the first real analog synth that Roland has done in a long time. You've had the JP-08 for 2 years? I thought t...

Opinions on upcoming TR-808 and SH-101 Boutiques

Released on 808 day, Roland will be releasing two new boutiques-reissues of the famous TR-808 and SH-101 mono synth. They both look as cool as the original with the SH 01A sporting poly mode. Both have use of the ACB, although maybe for the price they look kind of promising. What are your guys' thou...

Re: 80's Synth Pop

Thanks, I was really going for the style. As far as the timing, I was pretty sure it was on time since I used a midi clock for the internal sequencer. Maybe I should've turned on the quantize or something.

80's Synth Pop

This is a little tune I wrote and recorded; the synths used were the Kurzweil K2000 for the repeating bass/chord sequence, Alesis SR-16 for the drums, Roland JX-8P for the bells and brass, and a Juno 106 for the rest such as the pads and analog sounds. No effects were really used except for some rev...

Re: Pulse

Kind of sounds like a Vaporwave! It's got a lot of energy to it. I have a JX-8P also, which sounds are the JX-8P? the background saw wave?

Re: New Track - 'Sugar Free'

Interesting, sounds like it could be a chill music or ambient, the drums and its beat sound good or appropriate for the rest of the instrumentals. I've never really heard much about using the vocal samples for a melody.

Hello Nathan!! Thank you very much for your effort and great willingness. Yes, both of these sites are known and the other one is absolutely super and very useful. However, it is important to check carefully. There are incorrect and incomplete files. I am making backups of all EPROMs from my device...

Re: Self Control Cover (Laura Branigan)

I haven't seen many people with an SR-16 around. Good to see some are putting it to use. Thanks, it really isn't that bad for a drum machine, it's easy to program, and comes with tons of samples such as TR 808 style drums which you could edit their sounds. Sometimes the SR 16 could even sound like ...

Thanks for taking the time to reply, appreciate it. I'll probably have some more covers some time and my own compositions.

Korg DW8000 built in Chorus effect?

Have owned a Korg DW8000 for a few months and loving it, was wondering if this synth has a built in chorus effect in it? The manual claims that it has one as well as the Digital Delay. Anyone know how to create the chorus effect?
