Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they
The only positive... The aria team is run separately from the main Roland company, different locations etc. hopefully means it will not suffer the VariOS fate.

Re: TTSH: Two Thousand Six Hundred (DIY Arp 2600 Clone)
I've had a few 2600's over the years, my favourite is the late model to be fair. I do have to agree, the TTSH is not there. There are some good Euro modules that give the vibe, the Oakley VCA and Ring Mod and the AMSynth stuff is pretty close. I think there is always more to clone something than sim...

Re: Yamaha SK50D
The tone of the synth side is very pleasing, the String/Organ/Brass stuff is not bad but the new Waldorf covers that just as well. Ive had the SK10 and SK20.

Re: Looking for a second lover
I would see what happens regards the Korg Odyssey, very flexible and a nice contrast to the Yamaha timbre.

The Boss DE200 is the rack version of the Juno chorus if you want to go that route.

Re: Anyone get any good Juno or Jupiter sounds from an A Sta
The general point is you can get close to some synths if you study the synth you want to mimic closely. As has been mentioned, the Juno is very simplistic and has a very recognisable chorus.

Re: Id this synth.
Standard "rave" piano. You sample a piano sound on your keyboard of choice, but instead of just a single note you sample a chord. Then when you play it you get that typical block type effect.

Re: Roland SH-2 Oscillators superior to all the other SH ser
SH09/2 are the same VCO, very similar to the late model Minimoog if I am correct. The SH1 is said to based around the System 700 VCO and does have a slightly different tone, but not massively. A couple of the Japanese sellers are a little bit iffy, but a search on a couple of forums will point to th...

Re: What's the bass synth on Equinoxe Part VII?
@synthacon - I'm very confident Michel Geiss is not working with JMJ now and has not been for some years. Absolutely, he's been doing his journalist stuff again for years etc. Not sure I put he was still part of his team however? I think after about '79 Jarre certainly used more people. Rimbert did...

Re: What's the bass synth on Equinoxe Part VII?
Like you said, as soon as I got my first Synthex I had to find the preset!
So many Jarre sounds on that synth, Paul Wiffen did a great job with it

Re: What's the bass synth on Equinoxe Part VII?
Totally agree. His team of Rimbert/Geiss and Perrier were and still are key to what he does. All are great keyboard players and programmers. Over the years he has teamed up with people to get the best out of his ideas. He is also not afraid to use presets, if you have a Synthex, Fairlight and a D50 ...

Re: Yamaha CS60 Value 2014?
Just one bit of advice… If you do go for the sale option. I would try stay away from eBay for two reasons. The percentage they take from you soon strips the price. Secondly, if you are not VERY experienced in packing something of that size and weight you could end up have a damaged and broken unit t...

Re: Is the Voyager better than the slim phatty?
I find the Sub Phatties have a little bit more of the grit that the Mini/Prodigy/Source etc have. My Voyager was far too clean. The Sub series have a different filter to the Voyager and standard Phatty range which has been discussed lots.
