Re: Cyclone TT-303

Just a point on the filter and 24db.... To quote my synth tech, who has designed a few synths and repaired many.... The filter is a -24dB/octave filter built from a diode ladder. It can be thought of as four -6dB/octave stages connected one after another. However, the cascading action isn’t text-boo...

Re: what are some good affordable rack mounts?

Just look at specs. For instance the TX81Z is nowhere near a DX7, different architecture but the same family. Rack stuff is cheaper as your not paying for extra hardware. Good deals.... Korg Wavestation SR - Great pads Korg TR Rack - Trinity Rack, very nice sounds (48khz samples) Oberheim Matrix 100...

Re: New Access Machine!

I must admit I'm not a fan of the Virus range, strip away the effects and it's just a bit flat, but even I hope they can eventually release something different instead of another rehash or something with a different paint job!

Re: New Elektron box--Analog Four

You have to say though that buying an audio product from a visual perspective is crazy! Yes look at specs and you will know if it is in the ballpark as regards what it can bring to your music, but don't judge it because it looks good, that's crazy.

Re: New Access Machine!

Access are offering discounts on new Ti2 products for owners of all their old synths, providing and incentive to clear stock ready for a newer synth at NAMM.

Interesting or Vanilla?

When buying new synths do you go for interesting and unique features or end up buying the same sort over and over? I try look for things like Ring Mod or Multimode filters etc.

Re: Roland's greatest synth?

When you look at their range over the last 40 years or so there are a lot of good synths. The trouble with a thread like this is that everybody rates their best synth on what they need and like. I've never rated the Jupiter 8 but lots do, also the JD990 is FAR more powerful than the JD800 but lots p...

Re: Any love for the Roland Juno 60?

The 60 is not bad, but like the 106 it is very limited, and that is the main reason it is hard not to make a bad sound. DCO polysynths can be a bit stale at times when compared to VCO ones but are stable and that can be a bonus to some. I prefer the Alpha Juno range as my tilt to DCO Roland stuff, a...

Re: Juno 60 "JU-60" marking

There is difference in sound or indeed internal parts just the outer markings. Why still go on about it? Is it to perhaps try and create a story that your Juno 60 is a rare early one that sounds better than all the others? My god there are lots of synths that have changed far more than a bit of pain...

Re: Juno 60 question

Mine does not say JU60, as far as I know there were no internal changes. The JP8000 also had changes to it's markings too, it does happen and is not always related to internal upgrades.
