Re: CASIO CZ Sysex!

Hello and welcome hellowwworld! Madtheory's suggestion is on the money and sounds like the trick. CZ-101 was my first synth, my intro to midi 101, and I'm digging it back out because of this thread and also because of how it relates to all of my FM stuff. I know I still have at least one data cartri...

My good 'ol z3ta is back...on ipad

And a faithful rendition it is! I had the freebie VST many years ago and had fun with it back then.
"Old" vst's, go figure.

Re: micro tuning the DX7ii (and TX802)

Sounds like you want to take the deep dive, so might I suggest that you visit Dave Benson's DX7 page for more background info along with links to even more. http://homepages.abdn.ac.uk/mth192/pages/html/dx7.html Also, this place is a treasure trove of resources of which I personally have benefited g...

Re: Yamaha VL1/VL7

PlG150Vl in a Motif ES rack here, love it. Driven by a BC3a plugged into a DX7II. Agreed on the windage issue, you can blow yourself into a stupor trying to do brass/wind/reed emulations. Now experimenting with my sax player cousin on tying together a WX into the system. Modeling is good stuff but a...

Re: What is fm synthesis like on other synths (non yamaha dx

Fantastic thread. And thanks for this because it made a few things click for me. There is a stupendous relationship between Synclavier and DX, for me at least because the first Synclavier I had ever got to play with had a complete studio built around it. I fell in love with Synclavier but it had a t...

(Wow this new midi thing really works, goodbye joystick port.)

Re: iOS Users' Community

The previously posted link over to the KVR forum is a pretty good dev location with a fair amount of feedback to and from developers. Fairly tough crowd over there as they are already spoiled by VST's and such.

If you don't already have Tabletop now is the time. Running the mini three times in it...interesting.
(Audiobus people will be chiming in soon though.)

Goodbye KP3.
(Heading over to the for sale boards now.)

The sync plague is gone in iOS. Question now is how to best get stereo in and out of the ipad3. Alesis?

Re: DX7 Serial Number info

DX7 serial numbers?
Really?
I don't mean to be snotty or anything but this strikes me as an all time low.
Why? Because they cranked 'em out by the thousands. My DX serial is probably 3,789,236,014.
Not much difference in the builds. A 7 is a 7.

Re: Reliability of synthesizers

Compromising reliability for near disposability, if very careful can yield good results. That along with the "lower end" synth market trend towards extremely fragile synths brings good availability at a cheaper price which will hold up and last if treated with great care. Should something damaging o...

Re: Yamaha DX line informations

Nice old page, but it also misses the DX-200 which I think fits in the timeframe.
