Hello Tyler2000! I'm back!
I've been absolutley swamped and buried in the muck of life. Too many funerals and too difficult to explain. The SX(and stuff) is still yours, just need to catch my breath and pack it up. If I gift wrap it you must promise not to open it until Christmas. :D

What wonderful nostalgic memories your demo evokes! The DX7II was my first FM synth back when I had a librarian for a Mac SE-30 and romped thru thousands of patches and randoms. I haven't had the time to dig in again, but someday soon I'll dig in and push on that FM synth adventure. Most cool. 8) (H...

Wonderful thread and I agree with what GS said on page 3, a weighted 88 for the bed, a 61 or 76 synth for pads and "wide" synth work, and a mono for leads and solo emulations. That being said I'd like to narrow the concept down to three primary control surfaces . Two hands, three keyboards, whicheve...

Wow, six pages and no mention of my baby. I'm caught in that "my first synth syndrome", along with being WAAAY too house and family poor to even consider anything "state of the art". It's almost embarassing but here goes... Yes, I love my old DX7IIFDE! For me, that E! card makes all the difference i...

Funny, at first I wasn't going to say anything but you called us "cats". Which brings to mind a keyboard that I got off of the bay for a ridiculously low price because it had "problems". Well, when it arrived I opened it up and it was obvious that the prevoius owner had cats. Cat hair everywhere and...

Back in the day, a "star" keyboard artist that mostly plays piano came to town with a synth on top of his grand piano. I sat on the edge of my seat waiting to hear this "master" apply his wisdom to the then new synth phenomena. GOT DAMNIT!!! He never even friggin' touched it. I was pissed off beyond...

Anybody know what synth Keanu Reeves was using in "ChainReaction"? I can't pull it up right now but it's interesting to imagine that a synth could be used to solve the world's energy problem.
(That patch separates hydrogen from water!)

Pretty much the same thing here. I was walking out of the door of a pawnshop, spotted one and threw it in as part of a package deal for $20 more. Then I fell in love with it like it was a new puppy dog. Awww, it's so cute! Sooner or later I'll start a new thread on modding the shs, but so far I've c...

OK Carbon, you've started it and it's on now buddy! 8) Long live the death of the stock SHS-10!
I'm afraid it won't be cheap cuz the DIY's that I've found don't quite cut it. But with a little Dr. Frankenstein action I think some interesting things can happen.

I think that's the grey one which seems to be more common across the pond. Mattel red is very fitting for it, since it's such an oddball. As for marketing, there was probably a Yamaha mandate that everything electro-musical had to have some form of midi since midi was all the rage back then. So the ...

You beat me by 12 bucks. Best $20 I ever spent. Without the midi out it would be completely worthless IMHO, but given the decent midi implementation(start/stop, pitchbend, portamento, sustain, etc.) I have great fun with it. Not interested in circuit bending just yet but I would like to open it up a...

RUN!
Run like you just stole something and the alarms have gone off and the cops are on their way!
You have no idea of how much trouble you're in, ESPECIALLY if she's a doll.
Nordstroms? OMG, OMG.
