I was in elementary & middle school during MTV's earliest years, so I was surrounded by new wave/synthpop/other synth-based stuff. I was as influenced as much (at the time) by Asia and Saga as I was The Art of Noise and Duran Duran. DD's "Rio" album probably sealed my fate in wanting to be a synthes...

I have the demo (my purchased copy is en route) and I haven't experienced a single crash yet. I'm using the Mac version, though.

I've pondered getting it once I get Live. An FS1r or FM8 have been on my wishlist for sometime and I'm wondering how Operator compares with either of them.

There is a tuning function on it, so make sure it's @ A-440. Richard,

Have you had the chance to upgrade to Reason 3.0? I know that you said the Combinator was of particular interest to you, as you were still using Reason 2.5 at the time of your interview with Propellerheads.

Started high school off with a DX-21 that my parents bought me when I was in 7th grade. I received an ESQ-1 for Christmas of my freshman year ('87). I used the DX & ESQ-1 with a very crappy top-40 band I was in @ the time (hey, we played the Italian Festival in Shreveport and rocked our parents and ...

Doesn't it depend on which model and need you have since they all have different functions? I'm considering either the ESX or ES-1 mk II at the moment as I want a dedicated drum machine on the cheap. I did see Boss DR-880 but I like the idea of being able to use samples as w/ the 2 Electribes above.
