There is a tuning function on it, so make sure it's @ A-440. The only other explanation I would know of for it to act that way (if it were not just out of tune, but in and out of tune) would be an issue with the internal battery. Doesn't it depend on which model and need you have since they all have different functions? I'm considering either the ESX or ES-1 mk II at the moment as I want a dedicated drum machine on the cheap. I did see Boss DR-880 but I like the idea of being able to use samples as w/ the 2 Electribes above.
