Re: Time for mini laptops yet?

I use the Behringer UMA25S as a MIDI controller and audio interface. How does the UMA sound? I've seen a few reviews claiming the audio interface wasn't very good. How low can you get the latency? I don't know how low you can go, but mine is set to 6 ms at the moment, which is more than enough for ...

Re: VST filters - Who's got the best Filter plugin?

http://kunz.corrupt.ch/?Products:VST_Multi_Filter I don't know how it compares to the hundreds of other freeware filter plugins available, but at least their soft synths (Uno 62, TAL-Elek7ro) have been well received. If you want to spend money, try this: http://www.fabfilter.com/products/volcano.php...

Re: Time for mini laptops yet?

I've been using my Acer Aspire One (8 gb SSD version with only 512 mb ram) as a sound module, running Bidule as a host with various synths, 10-50 % CPU usage. I use the Behringer UMA25S as a MIDI controller and audio interface. Aside from the crappy keys it's a great companion to the netbook. People...

Great free synth pack

Read about these on KVR:
http://elektrostudio.ovh.org/

16+ pages of background info (you won't miss anything by not reading it):
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... sc&start=0

But I agree, they sound great.

Re: Got the KORG MS20 Legacy Controller, what software do I need

It's basically just a fancy MIDI controller, so you can also use it with any other VST instrument, in addition to the Korg legacy stuff.
Search the web for "free vst synths" or something similar...

Re: Free Standalone Arpeggiatorwares?

ARP-X8 by Technotoys. It's included in the "omega bundle" with some other cool stuff too: Read more about it here: http://www.nabble.com/technotoys-seq-303-for-everyone-for-free-td8551755.html There's a link to the download on the page. There's also http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/arp...

Re: Any VSTI versions of these synths?

The Proteus VX is a pretty good substitute for lame 90's romplers:
http://en.audiofanzine.com/s/emu/downlo ... -for-free/
It has all the waveforms from the Proteus 2000 module.
You can also get it straight from the E-mu website, all you have to do is sign up for their newsletter.

Re: Question about the Mopho sequencer

OK, thanks. I realize the sequencer is internal and doesn't transmit notes. What I was wondering was if it can be used to send start/stop info to slaved gear? Or maybe that's what you meant, sorry if i misunderstood you. It would be nice to be able to control a live setup from the much hyped "push i...

Question about the Mopho sequencer

Can the Mopho be used as a midi master? I know it can send midi clock, but can the "push it"-button be used to start/stop other gear such as drum machines etc? I've looked in the manual and searched the forum, but found no info about this. Thanks.

Re: Any VSTI versions of these synths?

Some old scool-esque (?) romplers:
http://www.kvraudio.com/news/9758.html (free)
and
http://www.luxonix.com/home/en/products.html?id=purity (not free, 99 usd)
Luxonix also has another rompler, Ravity, but that doesn't seem to be available for purchasing...
There's a demo to try out, though.

Re: Where the Best Analog Emulations Succeed & Where They Don't

I wish someone would make a real analog with plugin integration like the virus TI... Or even an interfaceless box that acted as a DSP expansion card (like UAD or powercore) but was actually a bunch of analog oscillators and filters that can be used to run various synth and filter effect programs (t...

Did some more research, and this is probably as close as you'll get:

there's a bunch of presets for it too:
