Re: So... What's up at Elektron?

It is apparent to me that a lot of people in this post complaining of the "value" of the machinedrum, and it's "on paper" limitations have never used the machine. Or if they have, their time with it has been very limited. Anyone who has actually used it would not be making these comments.

Re: Rank synth by what celebrity they resemble

I thought I had the perfect match for the OSCar and Bobcat Goldthwait....then I saw Mome Rath already used him for the Evolver. What are the odds of that? Who has even thought of that guy in the last 15 years? Ahh well. My comparison still stands.

I work in manufacturing and you would be surprised (or not) by the way these "top 10" lists usually work. Let's just say it works more like an auction.

Re: How have Arturia Origin sales been?

nvbrkr, You hit the nail on the head in outlining the point I'm attempting to get across. It has nothing to do with the structure. The argument here are differences in the SOUND (when all else is equal). Blue Monster, Nobody's trying to convince anyone that something sucks. This is a discussion abou...

Re: How have Arturia Origin sales been?

I realize there are no motherboards etc. stuffed into the Origin's case (ala Hartmann Neuron). My point was that the Origin is nothing more than (and would not sound better) a computer running Arturia's VST's. If they used the same algos (which they say they did) then there would not be a difference...

Re: How have Arturia Origin sales been?

But clearly here the dominant idea is that the Origin was the vst Arturia in a box... That is the dominant idea because that is a FACT (as stated by Arturia's own developers). From a review by Tom Whitwell @ Synthopia/MusicThing: "The trouble starts when you turn it on, after first plugging it in, ...

Re: How have Arturia Origin sales been?

deb76, I'm sorry that you don't seem to understand what everyone is saying here. The Origin is a computer running Arturia's VST's. Plain and simple. If I put new siding and a roof on my house, the have it professionally landscaped, will it make the inside of my house any nicer?

Really? I hope this isn't a trend. Don't these normally fetch $500-$600?

That must have been the same thought Sequential had before they designed the Prophet VS.

Re: Just saw Crystal Method live

Just saw them a couple weeks back at the Cleveland House of Blues. I saw: Alesis Andromeda New MicroKorg MS-20 Nord Lead Midi Controller (Axiom?) Hooked up to laptop. I was extremely disappointed at their stage skills. I think everyone realizes that their music is too complex/processed to REALLY per...

Re: FOUND! 5-Tier Synth Stand but....

Thanks. I just noticed they carry the brand, but USA is not an option to choose on their site, so who knows. I just sent them an e-mail. Anyone else have any recommendations?

FOUND! 5-Tier Synth Stand but....

...they won't return my e-mails for ordering instructions. Anyone know where I can find a stand similar to the 5 ot 6-tier stands on this site? Maybe even in the states?

You can disable voices and turn oscillators down in the mixer section when you don't need/want the "thickness".
