Re: Depeche Mode goes vintage

They've always used vintage gear (and modern), this time though they've been using a lot more (vintage). Btw...The extra track they released as a taster, The sun the moon and the stars is sublime, so dreamy. that joke went way over your head No it didn't Joey, i suspected foil play!, but you never ...

What is that synth in the top pic on the far right? Half of it is in the pic. Looks like a poly of some kind. On a stand behind Ben Hillier.

Don't know how I've missed that, but you're absolutely right.

Re: Hartmann Neuron: Does a good demo exist?

The Neuron does Resynthesis on a macro level, rather than a micro : Here's a better explanation culled from the helpful people at http://www.surroundsfx.com The NAS, short for Neuron Audio System, is the synthesis engine in the Neuron. It was developed by Stephan M. Bernsee at Prosoniq. File under ...

Re: The synthesisers used on Kanye Wests new album

Couldn't care less about Kanye West... but I never understand the need to get all bent out of shape about it. If I don't like something, I simply move on. And, I don't wanna hear some garbage about 'it's crammed down our throat'. This is the first time I've heard a note of this new Kanye album. And,...

Re: Do you hate when bands...

At the end of the day, the performers themselves and the arrangement are the most important thing. On the other hand, I saw Apparat live earlier thi...

Re: hi hats..more emphasis in tracks.. how too

Yep, I concur with the short ambience/reverb tip. It's a great trick to give any kind of 'synthesized' sound a proper real-world-type place to sit, and just makes things easier to mix, in general. Just give it a moderate to healthy dose of early reflections, with minimal to no pre-delay, and a short...
