if you are only using one synth at a time I guess I can understand your answer. but if you are going to be using a mixer why not use the main outs from each synth rather than the headphone outs. BTW check out this: http://www.amazon.com/NADY-MM-141-Nady-4-CHANNEL-Mixer/dp/B0009X9H9I/ref=pd_bxgy_e_im...

for what you are describing you might actually want a headphone Amp. course the little ones usually don't have mulitipule ins so that might suck.

Why are you listening out of the headphone outs of the synths? why not the main outs?

check out RME and MOTU. http://www.rme-audio.de/en_index.php http://www.motu.com I'm rather partial to EMU but I don't think that the PCI or cardbus cards they have are Mac compatable. This is really cool: the RME digiface http://www.rme-audio.de/en_products_digiface.php I don't know what your price...

I've heard other people complaining about their 707s and 727s. There seems to be an issue with the jack where the Adapter plugs into the case. I have a 727 and I have to play with the jack; I plug it all the way in and then pull it out about 1/2 way and then it works. I don't know if that is what's ...

of my gear i'd say the EMU XL7 - if it has to have a keyboard then . . the same . . . o.k. that might be cheating a bit but it has a 1 octave keyboard that doubles as pads it's just not a traditional keyboard. too bad it isn't a sampler
