from the synths i've owned Believe it or not, the SQ80 does fantastic analoguey strings (just don't use the acoustic simulation saveforms, ie, 'bow' eeech yuck!) And in some odd way, the ESQ-1 to me had a bit more grit to it than the sq80... i can't explain, but the ESQ just sounded more analogue st...

I read somewhere that clicky envelopes when they're set to very fast attack/decay is a sign of a good, high-speed circuit design. I think it was in SOS a while back. No idea where to find it though! Ah well. I have a couple of synths that do this, so I wouldn't worry. Although making a click on rel...

different synth- but i did some very rudimentary calibration stuff on my Juno- modifed the PW so it 'sounded' like a true open square wave when the slider/pot was all the way down- I don't think i'll adjust anything beyond that in that one. I may have a look sometime in my CS at the mixer. good to k...

No, there is definitely something up with the respective VCO 1 and VCO 1+2 mixers... I think the VCO 1 mixer is just too quiet-it is easily drowned out by the VCO 1+2 mixer if their volumes are up even half way. mine wasn't this way when i first had it- but now, the 2nd mixer is louder, i've notice...

Re: synth sounds

what about the synths in Logic Pro 7? I've only got Express- seems that there are way more instruments in Pro and that makes sense- I love the EXSP24 sampler and ES1- all the others are well... c**p :) that's why i compensate with arturia stuff. If you can get around the interesting layout of Cryst...

Hold store and enter the preset number you want to overwrite. You have to be sure overall memory protect is off via the back switch and you have to make sure the patch protect is off for the patch. There should be a membrane button for this on the main editing interface. If the led for it is on, pa...
