The Kenton Pro 2000 MkII and the MkI (with firmware upgrade) allows the auxilliary ports to be used as CV and Trig outputs, allowing for a total of 5, (at least on the MkI, which I have) all assignable to different MIDI channels. http://www.synthtech.com/images/pro2kback.jpg you'd just have set your...

all the ones up to the ARP2600V do not. the Prophet V, Brass, and Jupiter V do use a dongle :( but if you've got one for other programs then likely they can put the license on that.

+1 on Automat from alphakanal- if you got a PowerPC based mac then I'd also reccomend Buzzer 2 (the chorus effects on that are pretty nice) +1 on arturia products- I use the CS80v and the MoogModularV, i was actually kinda disappointed with the Jupiter 8V although it's just the demo- I don't like th...

The best thing Arturia could do would be to start putting their synths into hardware boxes that look like the real deal.

not always- DIN-SYNC (or SYNC-24) use different pin-wiring configurations than MIDI does. like MIDI uses one combination of pins, while the DIN sync uses a different combination. The reason being most MIDI cables, well the cheap ones anyway, aren't wired on all 5 pins. You can get lucky though and g...

well, this is what he told me based on my description: Based on that description, the first thing I would look at is the RAM circuitry -- it would appear that every time you change patches (i.e. Read from RAM) the machine loses program info (which results in no output). If you're capable of checking...

well- bad news and more bad news- 65 bucks gone, on something he doesn't have the means to fix- says it the system. he says that the initialization still doesn't clear out or revert the system protocols, so he says it's something in there that causes the sound to cease when the patch is changed. he ...

well. i decided to just take it down to the tech not to far from here- granted i didn't tell him much during the initial phone call. 65 bench fee. not too bad- the synth came from georgia and he reckons there are some tarnished or cold solder joints somewhere. since it's not the CEMs or the memory b...

Based on the response he gave you it doesn't sound to me like he would be qualified. Even if the battery was dead you would be able to go back to patch 00 and it should play since it is in RAM at that point. Also since you had problems powering it up and say the power sometimes flickers that would ...

i called a local tech guy- he says that it may be the NiCd battery has gone bad and so the memory is corrupt... anyone know what the voltage reading should be for that battery? he says the bench fee for taking it in is $65. he says that should cover the part cost as well. should I just take it in to...

Just make sure the chips are correctly seated. But before touching them, wear and anti-static wristband or touch unpainted metal a few seconds. they're all in there snug.... here's the only way i can get it to make sound: i do the factory initialize on the whole thing, it calibrates, goes to patch ...
