too difficult for a novice?

ok, after a few weeks of my Ion being in its box, nicely stored and protected, i pull it out today to find that one of the keys has stopped working. I think it may be a loose connection. how difficult is it to open the case and get access to the keyboard area? like, is the Ion pretty simply laid out...

OK- very simple. i'm on a mac running OS X, i want to transfer patches to my new DX7IId via sysex. I'm using the sysex librarian. i've loaded the .syx file into sysex librarian... now what? Is there something i have to do with the DX first before I hit record? on that note will i hit "record 1" or "...

I had a Washburn XB-4 bass (i miss it :cry: ) and a Fender Jazz Bass ('64 reissue), BassPOD and a Peavey TNT bass amp.

no synths until just after my freshman year of college.
