Re: quick Akai MPC question

Yes, it's as you said, those three layers are links to other pads, so I can have 10 six channel sounds by linking them in this way. Thanks.

Re: quick Akai MPC question

this is not in response to your last question about 4 simultaneous programs, which i've never investigated myself...but in regards to your initial question, i'm thinking the following setup should work (don't have the 8 out expansion so i can't test it): pad 1 (assigned to out 1): triggers sound 1,...

Re: quick Akai MPC question

I don't think that will work, I believe you can only assign pads straight to one out or a stereo pair of outs. Why not just put 6 samples on 6 pads and do it that way? I want the samples to be triggered at exactly the same time. From what I read in the manual, it's possible to assign each note an i...

quick Akai MPC question

I found an Akai MPC 2000 XL with the output expansion. I read the manual a little bit, I just want to check that I can assign six mono samples to one pad and have them play through separate outputs. I'm doing a sound design project for a play and I want to run 6-channel surround sound and be able to...

Re: Your FZ's disk drive might NOT be dead!

I'm going to try this on my Q-80.
I had sort of a similar thing with a 'broken' Zip Drive, where it turned out the motor was just frozen in place by some corrosion, which I easily removed.

Re: over-consumerism

Wow, I buy one thing like once a year and I still feel overwhelmed (but that could just be the TG77)
I'd be worried that I couldn't understand it all

Re: Getting rid of one or two samplers

I haven't edit them, on the following weeks I'll work hard on their length (start-end point, size issues, normalizing) and will use "solo" for their format. Unrelated question: Did the V-Synth inherit all the helpful sample management features from the S-760, like auto truncate/normalize, auto star...

Re: Arturia Origin Keyboard - Wow!

Portland - while polyphonic aftertouch is of course hugely preferable, actually, duophonic aftertouch is a critical step forward and addresses probably 80% or more of what polyphonic aftertouch is probably used for. THE critical step forward is to be able to apply something like vibrato to just the...

Re: Arturia Origin Keyboard - Wow!

DUOPHONIC AFTERTOUCH!! While polyphonic aftertouch can affect parameters on a per-key basis, virtually all keyboards today only apply channel aftertouch; meaning that if you apply pressure to one note than all notes are affected - so for example if you lean in on the melody note for vibrato a held ...

I'd never get rid of the SY99. I'd get rid of the SP808 and the EX5

I was thinking QX1, but I think you're right about that.
Whatever it is, it's an interesting piece of music.

Re: Better than buying a Samples CD: creativity

It's important to note that having a good microphone does make a difference. If you sample with a bad microphone, you'll just get discouraged because quiet sounds won't sound good.
