Thanks cluster. One last question for you (and please....I dont want to be banned for asking this  ) but does the A6 sound nicer to your ears than the P'08. No where near me has a P'08 in stock.

I would really appreciate your opinion.

Whats the main difference between the 888 and 999. The 888 has more control over the kick drum and no filter? is that basically it? The 888 is £250 cheaper than the 999.....so was just wondering....

Thanks to anyone who can confirm

Hello

Can someone tell me which machine (888 or 999) would be more suitable for dance music productions. Are they supposed to be losely based on the 808 and 909 respectively?

Im looking for a decent, versatile analog drum machine for dance/trance

Thanks

Can anyone here comment on the quality of the '08 filter? Are we talking great, good, average? Im not familiar with the 3396 chip but im guessing its probably the most technically superior Curtis chip ever made - but does it sound good? Or does it sound budget mid 80's? Anyone care to post some filt...

Some serious opinions needed: A6 & '08

Do any of you own the A6 and '08 and have you compared their tonal qualities side by side? Would you say they're in the same ball park or does one stand out as having a more pleasing analog tone? I've used the A6 - its increadibly versatile but it always sounded abit dry and harsh to my ears (please...

Well.....that arpegio sounds Moogy to me....Minimoog. I'd say its using one of the hardwired preset pulse widths....the narrow setting.

The phasered synth....hmmm I dont know.....something with Curtis filters.....?

Go on spill da beans!!!

Well, I vaguely remember reading here or elsewhere about the lifespan of electronics. Is there a point in the not too distant future when analog synths that are already 30 years old are just going to cease to function? Are enough of them made with proprietary components that we'll become unable to ...

To be honest, I have had the same set of thoughts as Soundxplorer. Ironically though, I have now come to the conclusion that it would be better for the industry if the big players didnt get involved. What we have now are a growing number of specialist companies doing what they do best, with PASSION ...
