Re: Analog heavy Trance
I have been having tuning issues with my x0xb0x as well, which is why I havent really used it much in my productions. I think it needs to be recalibrated, and I have a huge 1980s analog oscilloscope dying to be used to bring my Scully tape machine back to life. my tuning knob is like at 3 oclock jus...

Requiem - A Industrial Goth Trip-Hop Track
This post is about 5 months overdue, since i released the song in January. This is personally one of my darkest tracks to date, as I have let to surpass it, or able to get myself to do another track like it. Pretty much a track i made to vent all of my frustrations of life when all things seemed to ...

Re: Is it worth buying a x0xb0x if I've got Virus TI/MC909/JP8K?
as an owner of the x0xb0x, and JP8K, GET IT! Then all you need is a TR909 to go with it, and you have yourself a setup that can destroy most venues PA's, and very easily Red Rocks sound system (Justice did it, I saw in person). some people think the x0xb0x sounds better than a 303, I have heard that...

Re: older first generation lineage VA synths ;)
it would be Nu Disco-Lounge :P its what they do with any old genre these days, put the word Nu in front of it. Then again, Nu Electro was soo 1997, now they just call it electro again, because its target audience (teens to twenty somethings) dont remember what electro sounded like in the 80's, well,...

Re: older first generation lineage VA synths ;)
that is the best statement I have yet heard to date Zamise. having now been on both sides, I rather have a few synths that I love, then a bunch of sexy attractive synths, too much damn maintenance!

Re: older first generation lineage VA synths ;)
I mean, not everyone here wants to make 70s lounge music or disco, some of us aspire to want to make something new and different. That sounds like if analogs only works for that... Lots of the most "futuristic" music is made with instruments from the past. In my case, I respect a machine built with...

Re: older first generation lineage VA synths ;)
Me having owned and played analog gear, from newer to older, I have come to the conclusion that analog gets VERY limited soundwise, even with modulars. Its why I like the flavor of some VA's in my mix, as it compliments the analog sound at time. I mean, not everyone here wants to make 70s lounge mus...

Re: older first generation lineage VA synths ;)
So are you saying "analog isn't just a costume, it's a way of life!!!" and how. Just like gangsta rap, if you aint got the street cred, you aint gangsta. on a note reguarding the microkorg, it is easily the most popular synth of the 2000's, if not the most widely used VA out there, by many non elec...

Re: older first generation lineage VA synths ;)
I do. I use the supersaw wave on my JP8000 all the time. not just for trance leads either, even dark grainy brooding pads it does well. There is nothing else like it on any other synth. The JP8000 does soo much blantant digital stuff well, i never use it to emulate anything analog. Im wanting to get...

Re: older first generation lineage VA synths ;)
I corrected the absolutely horrible fallacy with a newer better, more precise, more direct, centerized verbiage that fully implies what I originally meant.
Take 2.

Re: "Vintage" VA synths
I should have used the word "older" instead of vintage. There was a reason why I put quotations around vintage that no one has seemed to noticed. I wasnt saying that they are vintage, I used that term to signify a difference from the new breeds and the old first gen breeds. Me trying to get value ou...
