I paid about 355 for mine, in MINT condition. This machine is immaculate, almost what I would call in "Don Solaris" condition (museum condition for those who haven't seen his gear". Now im thinking about getting a vintage board here. Since I guess the other cards are not worth having. Man the JD990 ...

Well I dont have my S612 with me at the moment so I wouldn't be able to see for myself, I think I have version 1.3 or at least one of the later versions, which doesn't have the Cassette interface like some of the units.

I think mine is Ext Trigger on the back of the unit but im not sure either.

The S-612 has to be by far my most favorate 12 bit sampler of all time. It imparts warth to everything you sample into it. Combined with the AX-60, it becomes a digital oscillator for the AX-60. Sometimes I use the S-612 to sample first, then I sample the S-612 into the S-950 since its so much colde...

This covers all of the sounds that I need for my music, outside of the traditional analog sound. Time to make some killer music! these things are well wort...

If I was to get a Techno or Dance JV expansion board, would that work with the JD990? http://img3.harmony-central.com/acapella/ubb/facepalm.gif I will rip out my Techno card from XP-30 (comes included) and give it to you for free! Trust me you really don't need that card. It might be interesting to...

I was interested in the Techno expansion board, since I want to make more on the lines of Ken Ishii and more on the psytrance side of things.

is 355 dollars too much for a stock mint condition JD990? Someone was saying they got theirs for 400 with the vintage board.

Will any of the other JV boards work with the machine?

im not that interested in getting analog sounds out of it, but I want that digital sound as I have enough analog in my setup already.

Now my current dilema, to get a JD990 and forgo the PG1000 or to get a PG1000 and forget getting a JD990?

Holy c**p Don! Now you have offically made me really really happy about picking up this synth! I still want to program some of my own sounds still, just to say I can program a LAS synth.

This will put off my craving for a JD synth for a while.

Well the first thing I can say is, I need the PG1000 programmer for this thing. Software editors just dont do it for me.
