Re: Floyd founder Wright dies at 65

Saw the Animals tour in Montreal in the 70s. Thankyou Pink Floyd and Mr. Wright. RIP Lucky b... !!! "Animals" has always been my favourite Pink Floyd album (and I think that's pretty rare, most will say "The Piper...', "DSOTM", or WYWH), and even "Dogs" my favourite song (ex aequao with "Echoes" an...

Re: Any memorymoog owners?

Absolutely true, but this is actually the way it's going with all vintage analog gear. And btw: I don't get a CS-80 "because" it is overhyped; it has been my ultimate dream synth since more than a decade... But at that time I didn't have the (much cheaper) funds to buy one, you see... have you ever...

Re: Any memorymoog owners?

i love the (working) memorymoog. a lot of memorymoog problems seem to be due to bad connections and trimpots. as for the cs80 prices, i suspect the recent jump in market value was due to overhype, shill bidding and the resulting chatter. every time someone sells a synth for X dollars, where X is a ...

That is very true; it's a JD sound.

Re: Any memorymoog owners?

but a Pro1 doesn't run as hot as a MM. Indeed not at all !! I like the Pro-One, but the MM is a monster compared to it (and polyphonic). Only category of sounds I like the MM less for are strings and pads. Therefor a JP-8 is better, but the JP-8 basses and leads are still great but far thinner than...

Re: Any memorymoog owners?

Another Memorymoog owner here (L.A.M.M. version)... Indeed the MM is imho a far underrated polysynth. Great features, great sound, superb unison. Everybody talks about a JP-8, Synthex, Prophet-5, etc... but this is definitely one to be equally rated. Btw. Heath: my final dream synth - Yamaha CS-80 -...

Haven't listened to it for a whole while, but I thought I remembered something about using a Juno-60 or JP-8...
