Re: synth battle!!!

The NL sounds great, but imo the JP-8080 sounds still greater...
So I'd go for a JP-8 and a JP-8080. I own both of them and I'd never sell these anymore.
But yeah the JP-8 prices are going mad lately... (I had the chance to buy one a few years ago - in perfect shape - for "only" $1500).

Haven't listened to it for a whole while, but I thought I remembered something about using a Juno-60 or JP-8...
Small memory error.

Micke, talking about The Age Of Consent: wasn't there a lot of Roland sounds too (Juno/Jupiter) ?

Congrats THM! Post a few pics after it arrives. I will !! About this thread's topic (the JP-8/CS-80 differences): Analogue Crazy said it very shortly but clearly hereabove. The only similarities are the nationality of the founders and the number of voices/oscillators (8 voices/each using 2 oscillat...

I'll have my CS-80 pretty soon (completely refurbished/mint technical condition; is foreseen for mid-late August by the technician that is doing his job now), and I own a JP-8 yet - so I can try it fully out this Autumn.

I agree with that opinion of Micke - sounds much like a Jupiter-8 (but I could be wrong of course...). Note: that's one of the very few songs that I love as much the cover as the original one. The cover version was made by Tiga & Zyntherius only a few years ago (2004 ?) and was imho sounding very gr...

They're great. I had several software packages from several manufacturers, but after all I currently use only 2 of those software programs anymore: M-Tron and VSM / both G-Media stuff.

Got a reply already from Chris (that was really fast - only send my question yesterday evening). Both M-Tron and VSM seem to work on Vista. They doesn't want to give fully 100% confirmation, but several tests and users assure these software plugins are completely functional. So that's great - I'll h...

I have owned both the RS-202 and VP-330. I preferred the smooth VP-330 string over, the IMO more raw RS-202 sound. Btw, this topic has been discussed thoroughly in another tread a few weeks ago, regarding Tony Banks and his use of Roland RS-202 in the late 70'. Thanks I'll check it - okay I'm glad ...
