Does anyone know where I could score one of these? I checked the technologytransplant website which is great but they list this part as "out of stock".
Thanks

Re: Parts for VINTAGE SYNTHESIZERS.....
Perhaps not a vintage synthesizer parts repository but a pretty awesome electronics store in Torrance, CA called Torrance Electronics. They have everything... probably.

Here's the Tetra first, then the XS. I swept the filters a smoothly as possible. The image also reveals the stair steps quite nicely.

"Potentiometers" on new DSI synths - *Rant Warning!*
Are these potentiometers or are they ultra-hi resolution encoders? They certainly feel a lot better than the old encoders but there's still stair-stepping happening... at least on the tetra there is. If you crank the resonance up so it accentuates the overtone series then slooooooly sweep the filter...

Re: Sonic Study
Not sure about that as I haven't heard it before. I was experimenting with sounds who's timber's are pretty much all different and the whole piece is in a constant state of change. All of the non-synth sounds were recorded on to a Zoom H4n and I listened for the more interesting parts, cut them out,...

Re: Sonic Study
Thanks Zamise! :D Yeah, not really intended to be a song but more of a sound collage. So there isn't really a distinct rhythm or musical melody, just hints of them here and there in a couple of spots. I think it's more John Cage-ish type of stuff. There was an early electronic musician that did some...

Re: A question for owners or users of the Synthacon.
Nice to know there's at least a couple of synthacon filter clones out there. If I ever get around to building up another modular, I'll probably add one of the clones. The thing that I liked the most about the filter is when you crank the resonance up and modulate the filter with VCO 3, you get this ...

So the Capacitors definitely need to be changed out?
Yep +15 and -15 Volts DC I see that now. There was AC voltage present though... strange.

Arp Odyssey help needed
Howdy folks, I'm troubleshooting a non-functional Ody because it does not produce any sound. Looks like its an Odyssey II (2823) on the bottom manufacturers tag. I've downloaded an Arp service manual from http://www.emusic-diy.org/ArpManuals/Odyssey?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=ody_06.gif and I'm...
