Re: Daisy chaining to midi controller keyboard

You could go MIDI OUT of your Axiom to MIDI IN of the Digi 002. Then MIDI OUT of the 002 to MIDI IN of either the KS rack or the Virus B. Choose, for example, MIDI IN of the KS. Then connect another MIDI cable from the MIDI THRU of the KS to the MIDI IN of the Virus B. That should do it. Set the MID...

A question for owners or users of the Synthacon.

Short of building a small modular and installing Elby Design's Synthacon filter clone, are there any synths out there that would get me close to the same quarkyness and tone of the real thing? How does the Arp Odyssey compare or does it?

Re: Steiner-Parker Synthacon manual

I wish I had a fully calibrated Synthacon to compare this one to. I think for as long as this thing was sitting in storage collecting dust, its still running strong. The filter mode switch is a little dodgy and some of the key contacts were intermittent but after some general cleaning (and careful u...

Re: Microphones

Not sure if anyone knows this already but these guys: http://www.speakerrepair.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=genem&Category_Code=microphones sell clones of the SM57 and 58's for about a third of the price. The AT4040 is my first "pro" mic and later on I'd like to pick up a nice multi-p...

Re: NEW DSI Tetr4 -4 voices of Mopho In a Box!

I just picked one up a couple days ago and made my way through most of the presets. I really like the sound of this one and I prefer it much more than the MEK. The pots for the filter and resonance are fantastic and just make filter/res sweeps a real joy. Also, the filter has that "bubbly-ness" to i...

Microphones

I just picked up an Audio-Technica AT4040 today and have been testing it out a bit. Great mic! Do you have and use any microphones? What's your favorite technique? Field recording? f**k around?

Re: The lead line in "Pyromance" by Chemlab???

Sorry I can't help with your synth question but this is the first time I've heard Chem Lab mentioned in a long time and I had to comment. I saw them along with Skrew at The Insect Club in Virginia around '91/'92 I guess - really cool show and loads of energy these guys have. It's cool to hear that t...
