Yes, Minimonsta is the best Mini-replica ever made (to my ears). I've been thinking of buildind a MIDI-controller which looks like a mini so I can play minimonsta like the real deal for less cash. Still, you'd always have to connect it to a computer to work which would be a pain in the a*s compared ...

Out of the ones I've used, Spectral Audio ProTone is probably the worst piece of f*cking c**p I've ever encountered. Imprecise, lowest-quality-there-is pots, thin sound, ugly, boring to work with - completely useless! I kept mine less than 24 hours, I couldn't even stand looking at it!

I grew up playing the piano and a Casio home keyboard. I force myself to learn how to play the guitar now and since I'm so used to keys I never seem to get better at playing the guitar. It's really frustrating. I wonder if it's the same with people who grew up with guitars and then starts learning p...

The bubbly and growly space sound landscapes of the swedish synth band Backlash are really cool too. Listen to their song "The Wrench of Parting" and you'll understand

I don't have a single favourite sound, I have many favourites. Fast C64-type arpeggios often used in chiptunes is one of my all time favourites, Nice 8/16-step sequences are one of my favourites too.

Sorry to be so off topic but I can't help but remember hearing the story of a technician at Roland who got a call about a non-functional S-760 sampler. Appearently the guy had a gig at a park, but there wasn't any means of powering his equipment. So he tried to sample wall voltage electricity to a ...

synthedit kicks a*s! i build a lot of softsynths in it which i use frequently. when you get to know how to get it to sound just right it's perfect. crispy and snappy, yet soft and warm. though i think it's great for digital noise-ish stuff, sid emulations and snappy basslines. plus it's cpu freindly...
