Sounds like a problem in the VCA section.
Either you have the gain slider up, or something is shorted there causing the same effect.

1983 - when I decided to get into synths I went a bit wild... with a month or so I had picked up: Arp 2600 ($750) MS-20 ($250) *this seller also had the MS10 & SQ-10, since the sequencer "didn't make any sound" I didn't get it!, I also passed on the MS-10, 'cause it looked like a lesser version of t...

cary,

Get the foot pedal! (if you don't have already)
I remember it making the pe2000 brass a lot more fun to play.

Find a guitar player and start borrowing pedals! I like the line6 stuff too and have the DL4, MM4 & FM4. (I bought them kinda beat up and cheap at GC.) They are large but having 3 or 4 variations is nice, as is the CV input. Inserting effects between the mixer and filter on the voyager can be fun. I...

The manual makes reference to the colors I think... but you can get suitable replacements, for example: Mountain Switch Miniature Toggle Switches PLASTIC CAP BLACK - part# 10TB002 Mouser has 'em in other colors as well. They'll seem too small to fit - the trick to putting them on is to soak them in ...

Personally I'd save & spend the extra money on a voyager.
there are lots LPs & VGERS showing up used, so you should be able to get one at a decent price, no matter which one you decide upon.

In my area used a K2000 can go for anywhere from 300-600 USD, depending on installed options (sampling, PRAM, RAM, Contempory and Orchestral ROMS) and the OS rom version.

They are very flexible machines, but wrapping oneself around the programming architecture can be a challenge.

Kurzweil is king! and V.A.S.T. is deep (IMO).
If I had to have just one keyboard it would be a K2xxx.

Can someone be kind enough to convert the klingklang.k26 file into a sysex dump? I don't have a machine with a floppy disk and I'd love to ply w/ these patches.

thx

Congrats on the k2k purchase. highly rated but undervalued in the synth world IMO. I see these things going for $300 in local stores, and it's just silly. There's very little that the K2XXX won't do, but the price of admission is studying the manual Are you trying to sync the internal sequencer of t...
