I don't understand.

If I had posted the demo myself, I wouldn't have to ask anyone to identify it.

Re: paia programmable drum set

Well then perhaps someone can identify this drum machine from an Essendon Airport song?

paia programmable drum set

Does anyone have this machine? And if so, would you be willing to post a demo of it? I want to confirm that the old Melbourne post punk band, Essendon Airport, used one.

Would be most grateful!

Re: What Synths Did Cluster and Harmonia Use?

I'm pretty sure they used a Davoli Davolisint on Zuckerzeit, as well as a Farfisa Professional Piano (amongst other instruments).

I really regret posting this thread now! The last few times I've logged on I've avoided looking at it, because it makes me feel very small and foolish!

Consider the lesson learned!

Re: SH-101 with 808 or 303 with 909

It's hilarious to have live long enough to see the trends change. I remember when the SH-101, the 303, 808, and the 909 were all considered garbage. I remember when the 808 was not garbage, but the others were. I remember when the 808 and the 303 were not garbage, but the others were. I remember wh...

Re: Syncing TR-606 to Oberheim OB-8 arpeggiator

so we ran a CV out from the Pro One into the CV-in on the Mono/Poly which was cool but it still doesn't work to trigger the arpeggiator. Did you actually mean "CV" or did you mean gate? Because it needs to be the gate out and it needs to be connected to the Monopoly's arpeggio trigger in. As I'm ty...

Re: Syncing TR-606 to Oberheim OB-8 arpeggiator

Gate and trigger are two separate things. Triggers are usually very short - the 606 puts out a 20ms pulse. Gates are usually as long as you want the note held - the same as a keypress. Your short notes are coming from the fact that effectively the 606 is only 'pressing the keys' for 1/50th of a sec...

None of you are playing this game right! [-X

If I'm allowed to mix and match too, then I change my preference to 101 and 909.

You may as well give it a try, but the gate out on the Pro-1 is also only 5V.

Re: SH-101 with 808 or 303 with 909

It's a tough decision, but only because I find the SH-101 and the TB-303 so uninspiring. The SH sounds thin and boring and the 303 has been used to death and is very limited. But I also love the 808 and the 909. I never seem to get sick of those sounds. Guess I'd go with the 101 and 808 - just becau...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

But why would anyone bother to send an email complaining about the price? Why would someone be so outraged as to go to the trouble of doing that? Peoples need to chill the f**k out! Though maybe they think they'll get the seller to sell it to them at half the price... Honestly, I've thought about do...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

I mean if someone has a nice collection and wants to put high prices and just sit back and wait there is nothing wrong with that. but it cracks me up when some burnt out old rocker gets all pissed and sends crazy emails demanding you lower prices dramatically... True, I suppose. I guess there are t...
