While you're at it, call Ferrari, ask them if a GTO can be made to haul as much lumber as a pick-up truck. Bad analogy... The GTO is not anywhere close to being physically prepared to haul lumber. Most every synth made today is quite physically capable of handling multitimbral mode; it's just he so...

3) Dave Smith isn't beholden to you, and didn't want to make a multitimbral synth. Well, good point... Maybe I shouldn't have said it so negatively. At least we know what to expect on this issue up front, and we know why things are the way they are. I'm still pretty excited about this thing, regard...

You'd lose. I take that to mean: "Even if enough people demanded it, Dave Smith would not add multi-timbral operation via a software upgrade." So one of these must be the cas...

there are a lot of microwave XTs available (i happen to have two) and you can get them new again now. XTs are relatively plentiful, but you cannot buy a new one. Waldorf is shipping a limited run of the Q series, but they're not making any XTs. I've been tracking the Waldorf situation pretty closel...

Server's already slow as h**l.

So, if these things are "shipping", then to whom? I don't recall any order form being available. What does a fella have to do to get one shipped to said fella?

Don't know about the OP, but as for me I'll be sleeping in Roppongi every night. I have no choice in the matter.

Good advice, people. I'm going to spend two weeks in Japan this November. When I'm not on the road, I'll be staying at my brother-in-law's place in Roppongi. I had never thought to check out gear while in Japan, but now I'll definitely be going to FiveG and Echigoya. So what do I (a USian) do if I b...

Their $$$ pricing, I assume, comes from the fact that the analog components are discrete components (resistors, capacitors, etc.) rather than ICs (chips).

I think the digital envs and LFOs would not change the sound much if at all.

Alesis Fusion, hands down. Nothing else comes close in terms of flexibility, so that would be my synth if I could have only one.
