Re: WTB: Solina "C" key, light assembly

give Sounddoctorin.com a ring.
also:
Syntaur.com has the key and the red button cap - not the actual pushbutton switch.

Re: Roland JX3P edit problem

Just throwing this out as a off-the-wall chance: Got in a JX3p having had an admittedly hard life. When I got sound out of it at last, it had many crazy problems still. Found the panel board had several broken traces around the screws that hold it to the metal front panel. IIRC I had to jumper nine ...

I do not have a JV, but thank you for making this. People like you are the lifeblood of the vintage synth community. Each persons input makes us all stronger!

Re: Korg DS-8 Problems

Thoughts: Likw many older synths (the korg DW6000 and 8000) The memory often will nor correctly load new programs after a battery failure/change until the memory is initialized. On the DS-8, hold the UP and DOWN buttons and turn the power on. THEN BECAUSE the DS-8 does NOT reload factory sounds, you...

Re: Juno 60 issues

I swear by Caig DeOxit products. 30 years of corosion on 30 year old connectors in 30 year old synths can cause problems beyond your worst nightmares. Keep a bottle on hand and use it every 1-2 years on vintage gear.

You'd loose all your custom patches, but can you try a RESET?

Re: DX7 Cartridge. Where is the battery???

The orange blob in the upper left may be a tantallium cap. They go bad. Other than that, a good cleaning of the contacts on the cart and in the synth.

Re: DX7 Cartridge. Where is the battery???

None. memory chips are EEPROM's. Save the data without external power. Slower than static RAM, but plenty fast enough for synth patch data. Same basic carts used by Ensoniq.

Re: Have synthesizers Improved in 35 years?

IMHO: Alot like automobiles: More features, more power, more gadgets, more durable and trouble-free, but ofter just more of the same - not as much "soul".

Re: Reissues you'd like to see...

No love for re-issues. My vote is for companies to bring out new improvements in model lines that have gone dead: Yamaha: SY77, SY99, next SY121? Roland JX3p, JX8, JX10, next JX20? etc. Anybody here have a few hundreds of million dollars* that you would use to buy the remains of Ensoniq from where e...

Re: Hello again I want to buy a synth.

What synth would be good for me? Under 600 dollars. Polyphony. Vintage or new doesn't matter. well as 80's synth sounds. Lots of vintage and modern tones and does not need realistic instruments. Something that is easy to create sounds on. I would like something with patch memory and it could be ana...

Why not look for a 37-note MIDI control keyboard? They almost always have an octave up/down switch.
