Re: Replacing a key on Korg DW6000
Is this one of the models that use a gold-colored "U" (or, maybe "V") shaped spring? If so, you just need patience to get the %$%$^ thing to snap in just right. If it uses a coil spring, the top goes on a pin on the underside of the key, and the lower end sits on a 'bump' stamped into the metal key ...

Re: Korg DSS-1 troubleshooting part one / no sound ouput
You should still be able to use the 'wave draw' and 'harmonic' modes to make sounds. Do you have a manual? This dinosaur is a beast to get your head around: from the neolithic zone before anyone discovered 'user-friendly" (lol). I'll dig out the service manual and see if anything stands out that mig...

Re: WTB: S10430 Divider
I put an email in to UTSource.com - my favorite off-shore site for dinosaur bones. Will post if they have any left.
edit: I've got an ElkaTwin-61 buried somewhere in the workshop. Would be good to have a few spares for it, too.

Re: MIDI frustration
Don't have either of these synths, but Roland used to have many problems with their 'running status' MIDI signal.
You may need a filter between master and the controlled synth.

Re: hard to find casio synth parts and need help with tx7 &4
This is from a Korg Poly-800. Looks similar. Maybe you could make it work. Never found ready-made straps for keytars: had mine made from two guitar straps. Had a shoe repair shop sew the leather together.

Re: SQ-80 help
Posting one last time on this thread: When I repair a synth, I like to do the best job I can. I got a used Keyboard Processor board for this SQ-80 because the 68hc11a1 MPU was going thermal intermittant. Replaced the board and the synth exhibited no more lock-ups even after extended 'on' time closed...

Re: SQ-80 help
Spent sever hours scoping some digital lines when working, then again when locked up. No joy. But... Then got out the heat gun and cooler spray. Started on the main CPU (no change) then went to the 68hc11 CPU on the keyboard processor board. Changed the +5 regulator yesterday because the old one was...
