Not to be pedantic, but isn't the Tom Sawyer sweep sound from an Oberheim OB-8 or similar? Yes, but the lead line (that 7/8 doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doooo) is a Minimoog. At least I assume that's what he meant. Yeah. The lead after he sings, "Today's Tom Sawyer, he gets high on you, and the space he inv...

What synth/synths can make this synth line?

Hey guys. I was watching the Futurama movie, and there's a synth part with a really nice sounding lead that comes in at 0:42. You can check it out here:

Anyone know what it is, or what can make it? I like how smooth it is.

Can the Micromoog do leads like in Tom Sawyer that are made by the Minimoog? Basically, can the Micromoog do Minimoog-type leads? Well, the Mirco basically has the exact same filter the Mini had, so in some regard its going to sound similar. But you won't be able to get those thick detuned sounds, ...

If the farthest right slider won't do it, then there are trimpots inside the machine for tune and scale. I'd have to do some digging to find out which ones, but I remember all the side panel tuning for oscillator 2 is on a PCB that's raised vertically on the rear of the inside. Thanks Solder. Yeah,...

If you have the money, I would get one. I hope to get a Rhodes Stage MK1 73-key one day with a DI box (I hate amps). I've tried a bunch of VSTi emulations, but none of them sound like the real thing.

Personally, I'm all vintage analog. This is what I would do: 5 synth setup: -2 polyphonics (one high end synth like the Prophets, Oberheims, Memorymoog, etc.) -2 monophonics -1 string synth 7 synth setup: -3 polyphonics (two high end synths like the Prophets, Oberheims, Memorymoog, etc.) -3 monophon...
