Re: Korg Monologue
I don't actually remember any where the envelope would *not* retrigger when playing a new "disconnected" note (i.e. not legato from the previous note). So I feel like I must be misunderstanding the problem people are talking about. It becomes obvious with longer attack and release times. When analo...

Re: Korg Monologue
There's no surprise that almost none of the analog envelopes do this, as returning to zero on attack requires additional circuitry - reset switch driven by trigger pulse.

Re: Korg Monologue
Broadwave, there is a workaround. Turn on portamento with a time of 0 and you get legato triggering of the EGs. These are two separate issues. Your solution works, if one wants "legato"/single trigger mode. However most complaints about Minilogue EG retriggering are because they always reset to zer...

Re: New DIY project - TOS polysynth :-)
Polymoog has individual VCA and simple non-resonant preset VCF per key, and additionaly it has master VCF, which is indeed shared by all voices. My project uses Polymoog oscillator arrangement (VCO -> PLL loop / HFO -> dividers), but each key has resonant VCF with optional envelope control, based on...

Re: New DIY project - TOS polysynth :-)
I've been sidetracked by other projects. Finding time to populate 60 tiny circuit boards turned out to be not easy task
But I WILL finish it one day, as I really want such synth, and Polymoogs are out of my range.

Simple DIY analog hihat module
Hi :-) Last saturday I've built very simple analog hi-hat module. I made it on perfboard, using parts that were laying around. It is similar to circuits used in analog drum machines, like DR-110 etc - four squarewaves mixed with white noise, then little-resonant HPF. Trigger/EG circuitry is loosely ...

Yeah, I really miss mine. However, their prices have risen in recent years too... And usually they suffer from battery leakage (same as Polysix), so you have to rebuild CPU board.bochelli wrote:Siel Opera 6 can offer much.

Re: Ensoniq VFX SD mainboard troubleshooting
If any of the chips is faulty (FX, generator, display driver etc) the system won't boot, as AFAIR it is based on serial communication with "ring" topology. So if CPU doesn't receive proper response, the boot sequence freezes. In my VFX I had to replace FX chip. The good news - those custom chips (ge...

One fifth of a DX7 actually. 3 voices and no velocity sensivity - that's a deal breaker for me.ninja6485 wrote:From what I understand, it's basically a DX7 in a volca case with a sequencer

Re: Prophet 600 - cross-mod stuck on one voice
Do you have schematics/service manual? Start by looking around the actual switch in the crossmod path for that voice - probably some 4066/4016 chip. Check the signals at its input and output, and power/ground pins. Common trick used then with those switches was biasing the ground pin slightly negati...

Re: Classical organ - replacement parts issue
Yes, anything with 4069 in it should be good. Those suffixes (UBC, UBE) etc mark different versions, but for this application they're irrelevant. You have written 4096 (mixed up 6 and 9), I hope that's just a typo. Make sure to order 40 69 CD prefix is for chips made by TI. You can also order HEF406...
