Re: HUGE MOOG MUSIC NEWS COMING MONDAY!!!
Hello all, 1) It's not exclusive to Humbucker Music at all, but it will not be available to all Moog dealers. Only a select few. 2) It's definitely not for everyone. 3) It's not another Voyager. 4) It's not a drum machine, but I would like that to happen so much it's not funny! Jake seeing as some ...

Re: Stereo Direct Boxes
i have a pro40 and i jack into the line inputs thru the back (thru a patch bay too) and it most definately does not bypass the pre-amp gains. you would think it would, but you can absolutely give it a little more juice from the trims on the front...

Re: Ambient reverb
ambient reverb = room ambiance rather than a designed/modeled reverb like a spring, plate or hall (hall meaning performance hall, i always thought it meant hallways but those sound awful) generally under 1second decay time. rule of thumb is when you get to the mixing stage, unless your using the rev...

Re: Dead serious stupid noob DJ-ing question...
not to stir the pot... but my best analogy these days is that DJs are like librarians. you can incessantly re-arrange your bookshelf by author, by color, by theme, but likely you didnt have anything to do with creating whats in those books... not to say there arent good DJs that excel purely in that...

Re: "Wonderful Christmas Time" by Wings Synth?
i gotta say, working retail this time of year and ive ordered my top 3 (retail friendly) xmas songs in a sort of john cusack 'high fidelity' sort of manner. in order to keep sane when each, and more despicable ones play 3x daily... so here goes... 1: greensleeves - any version 2: wonderful christmas...

Re: Behringer to make analog polysynths !
OTOH the used synth market is out of control. I'd be happy to see some cheap poly. I am not paying what folks want to charge for an alpha Juno or jx3p. They are good not great! yall gotta be completely batshit crazy to think a new feature-per-fader analog poly is gonna spring onto the market and wi...

Re: MKS-70 Owners - Question
i can say my JX8P definately clips the VCA at times. if you put the Dynamics 2/3 on the VCA you get some dynamic headroom and can turn up the VCA all the way. But often i turn the VCA Dynamics off in which any VCA value over 70 starts clipping. try messing with these two params... hope that helps. w...

Re: Moog discontinues Slim Phatty
id be totally happy with a little (or slim) phatty idk why people balk at the interface. im all for experimenting on a faceplate full of knobs but if you cant deal with one parameter editing on a synth, chances are you dont really grasp synthesis. i always looked at it at a Moog Source x4, and with ...

Re: Roland JX10 V3.0
has anyone undertaken this mod? im seriously considering it, but then theres the issue of finding/modifying a proper JX8P editor to split the upper/lower tones. just looking for some feedback thanks....

Re: Interview of R D James (gear, modular gear, etc.)
Of course, none of that information actually matters, his primary instrument is between his ears and you can't buy that on eBay. yeppp. forget the gear fetishism, the mind/body is the real instrument. he has some good ideas i scanned in this article, but to be completely honest, i dont *get* his mu...

Re: What's the deal with S/PDIF on interfaces ?
S/PDiF comes in two flavors, RCA (or phono) and optical (toslink). There are a fair amount of mic preamps that feature one or both types of connection for feeding the converted signal to your sound card. One example is the ART Digital MPA II. Relatively cheap unit, decent specs and nice features ov...

Re: What's the deal with S/PDIF on interfaces ?
a timely question! i just did some digging in the back of my racks and discovered (after all these years) my triton rack has a SPDIF optical out! i assumed the little plug on the port was where an expansion board would go, but to my surprise SPDIF out is standard on the rack? a superb chance to use ...
