Re: vintage effects for vintage keys?
i mean they make robust digital (and sometimes analog) repro's of classic gear. i wouldnt bet on using a vintage space echo live, but at 1/3 the cost and none of the maintenance the RE20 Space echo pedal is there. the nano small stone for keyboards sounds just as good, and without the volume drop wh...

Re: Modelling a guitar's dynamics - Reaktor? Anything else?
i would say maybe start by analyzing guitar patches on synths that you have? when i tend to use guitar i use nylon guitar patches on my triton bc i dont have a real nylon. i know that probably doesnt help you to try to purely synthesize a guitar. my observation of a guitar strings tone fundamentally...

Re: TR-909 for Cheap?
yep. i saw a 909 at a guitar center, the first one id seen in the flesh. i asked another more veteran synthesist if hed seen it and he said 'yeah that was the sorriest looking 909 id ever seen! the face plate was melted in...' GC still wanted $2200+ for it. save yourself the trouble and just get a T...

Re: Spring Reverbs
If you can find one (Hint: my FS listing), check out the Accusonics Accuverb -- there's not really alot of information out on the intertubes about it, but I picked one up on a whim a long while ago, having the desire for a spring verb that was unlike the quite interesting Ekdahl Moisturizer (anothe...

Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they
Why does anyone care about a TR-707 sound set? It's just a bunch of crappy samples. I've thought something like this myself, viz.. "Why wouldn't people that don't want to buy 707s just use samples if they want a 707 sound for whatever they're doing?" P.S. :ugeek: on the other hand, i could think wh...

Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they
I really really hope we get some TR-8 sound banks before they abandon it. That'll be good for years and gears if they just add the CR-78 and some other good ones. I think a ton of people would buy the System-1 if it had a handful of plugouts. Judging by the Sonic State video, the 101 was awesome. t...

Re: Help with my Interface Sadness?
you need to dig into the MOTU software 'Mixer' application. which will let you use your MOTU as a mixer and tracks in/out without an application. the application LIVE also has its own routings and latency. your probably hearing both the IN monitoring and the tracks in ableton bouncing and feeding ba...

Re: Korg poly800(v1) vs Roland juno106
The Poly 800 is one of those synths that you buy because it's so cheap you can't pass it up. funny because i have both, and i bought the poly800 as an instant gratification synth when my juno's first voice chip died. i paid a bit much and will prob sell it for a minor loss when i move. they each ha...
