Re: Modular synth question (powering a single and few modules)

Another option for Euro Modules (3U) in addition to the Doepfer one that I mentioned above is from a new company, called "Synthcase", and they have a low cost option called the "Ghetto Rack" : http://synthcase.com/products-page/geometrics/ghettorack/ghettorack/ . This case is a barebones desktop rac...

Re: Modular synth question (powering a single and few modules)

If you are looking at Euro Format (smaller 3U format) than Doepfer makes exactly what you are asking for, http://www.analoguehaven.com/doepfer/minicase/, which can hold 4 modules (depending on width of module), and they have a "low cost" MIDI/CV interface as well.

Re: MFB step64 sequencer

I have also been looking at the Step 64. I currently have a Moogerfooger setup (filter, ringmod, and freqbox), that I could use the many CV outs to control 3 or 4 functions. I am also starting to build a modular synth, which can also use the CV outs as well. I like the MIDI idea to sync to my Alesis...

Re: VSE - Good trader thread

I recently sold some effects via this forum, and I would like to thank the following buyers for extremely smooth transactions: Sir Nose Ashe 37 Meatballfulton Tallowwaters All of them get a 5 out of 5 stars in my book, they didn't send email after email wanting to know the most mundane of details, a...

Re: Akai ME-20 A Apreggiator

I don't know either whether it is worth $50.00, you can find many more functional sequencers for not much more money. IMHO, $20 - $25 is more what it is worth. Anyone who needs a manual can pm me with your email address, as I have a .pdf version that I can send to you. Henfield......................

Re: Analog Sequencers? Help me choose, make a list?

Most of the best analog step sequencers that are available are modular synth modules such as the Q119 or Q960 from synth.com or the Doepfer A-155 or Analogue Solutions SQ-8 in Euro Format. Analogue Solutions also makes the standalone SL-16 and Oberkron MK3 and Future Retro has the newly released Orb...

Re: MXR Carbon Copy

Try the forum's search function, someone posted a demo of one being used with a moog little phatty a few months ago. I did try a search before I posted, but I did not find that demo in my search, nor did I find any posters who had used it with a synth, or commenting on whether it is indeed analog. ...

MXR Carbon Copy

I have been looking at the MXR Carbon Copy delay as a low cost analog delay to add to my setup, does anyone use any on their keyboards, especially analog sound sources? Is the MXR really analog?

Thanks,

Re: Korg MS-20 Sequencer Question

You can use any type of Step Sequencer that is not quantized to work at 1 v/oct, as all they have are knobs for each stage that vary the voltage, but they are not set to note values, like the Step 64 or the Mobius. You can find one at Curious Inventor, or the other route would be a modular sequencer.

Re: MFB Kraftzwerg modular

I am sorry to bring this topic back from the dead, but I will soon have some spare money and I was looking to invest $500 - $700 into a modular setup to interface with my Moogerfooger pedals. The Kraftzwerg (especially if I can find one used) will fit into my budget. The amount of modules that are i...

Whatever happened to Cano Electronics?

Does anyone know what happened to Howard Cano or his company Cano Electronics? They used to sell a MIDI kit and an analog synth board via eBay that were designed to hook up to "donor" footpedals like those from an old organ. I cannot find any info on them at eBay or on the net. Does anyone have cont...

Re: CAN MOOG LP OR DS MOPHO DO JOY DIVISION

This is why you need a Solina to do Joy Division/New Order... Solina You can find Solina's for a bit less than a LP also. Wow, that was so perfect that I could almost hear Ian Curtis' voice singing the lyrics! Well done!! Did they use a Solina or an Omni on the original recording? Do the two of the...

Re: Synths that drone

If you do not need a keyboard, then you could use a "Moogerfooger Modular" like I am currently playing with: A MF-107 Freqbox Osc out feeding into the audio in of a MF-102 Ring Mod feeding into the audio in of the MF-101 Filter, audio out of the filter to the mixing board or amp. There is no VCA so ...

Re: DSI MoPho

Without a dedicated SINE wave- that's a tough stretch for many tones. After that it's usually some play with the filters...I feel the DSI Mopho is about sounding like itself . When I let it be what it wants to be everything is chummy. I don't know how many Analog Synths that you have worked with, b...

Re: What specifically is special about the DX100?

$400 is simply mad for a DX-100! I can buy a DX-7 for less than $300!! Portability would be the only thing that a DX-100 has over its siblings. Are people willing to spend that much extra for only 4 operators with portability?
