Minimal 4-2-Floor (Equipment: Korg ESX / MFB Synth2)

All sounds from the MFB Synth2 (including drums). Any processing you can hear came from the ESX's internal fx. I basically setup 1 pattern and strung it out in Song mode. Then I recorded the mutes, and overdubbed plenty of knob tweking. Recorded dry and then normalised. www.sadhaka.co.uk/Naughty.mp3

Sure, even the Juno 106 had patch storage and a lot of digitization going on, but there was no menu in sight, and anything that needed configuring could be easily accessed directly from the front. Why not design synths like that today, whereby all configuration settings can be setup via simple butto...

What do you think about operating systems on analog synths?

I think something gets lost as soon as an OS is introduced into an analogue synth. Its the one thing that has always put me off buying a Voyager, and now even the Little Phatty. I find it hard to explain exactly, but it's as if there's some sort of intruder or unwanted virus that has landed onboard ...

JS: That's exactly the one, cheers!

It's nice to see a new analogue keyboard without an OS. IMO, operating systems in analogue keyboards takes away their soul.

I wish it ha few more features, probably have to wait to see some more info on the X-Factor.

British made analogue keyboard?

I remember there was recently a small British company who were manufacturing an all analogue keyboard synth for quite reasonable money. Although I can't remember the name of it, or even the company who was making them, I have a feeling it had some connection with a synth repair company but i'm not t...

A click on the attack phase of the envelope is a very desireable trait in analogue synths (sign of snappy envelopes). How this works in slower digital envelopes I do not know. Like Thomas said, maybe the waveform is not started at the beginning of it's cycle on a note on. This would make sense since...

people dont think they have bitching rights because their post count is high, but rather because they value vse and dont wont to see it ruined by a bunch of (likely teenaged) cunts. if you really want to keep peace then let the old f**k grumble. So it seems the moderators actually tolerate this beh...

MPC60 has Voodoo Yummy Feel Swing (Damn Good). I've never understood this. I mean swing is swing, no? You either have 8th or 16th note basic swing (of which i believe the Mpc's use 8th note). Unless of course there is something about the stone age processor that gives it a certain flavour with it's...

In all fairness we need to give them a few more years vs. the release date of the 303 vs. the genre...right? It's probably unlikely anyway. Yeah, there is nothing orginal about them so it is highly unlikely. They are just a re-hash of the old classics...so how can they be original or create origina...

when you say the envelopes are slow - do you mean that its not punchy? what side effect does that have? Yes, that's exactly what I mean - they're not very punchy. Plus i dont like the shape of the attack and decay phase, it's just not the sort of shape you would expect from an analogue synth...more...
