DSS-1 == DW8000?
So I've been really loving my DSS-1 lately. Ever since I admitted to myself that I am the world's laziest samplist, and discovered the DSS-1's ability to generate square and saw waves, it's really become a h**l of a pad machine for me. Granted its modulation capabilities are pretty anemic, but its f...

cleaning dirty pot
I'm wondering if that potentiometer is something I can clean w/o disassembling the entire mechanism. I guess I may as well pick up some contact cleaner anyway, regardless.
Thanks!

K2000 pitch wheel wonkiness
Hey all, The p. bend wheel on my k2000 is no longer making a smooth sweep, instead when pushed it sounds almost like some kind of weird S+H. i opened it up and didnt find anything that looked too amiss with the assembly. anybody have a repair manual so i can get a better idea of some issues i should...

DSS-1 copyQM for Mac OS X?
Howdy,
Is there a program like copyQM, that would let me make Korg DSS-1 Disk images, that runs on Mac OS X? even OS 9 would help I suppose.
Thanks,
Joshua

Re: wakka wakka wakka ;)
No, no, VAST is kurzweil And that's exactly where my vote goes. Considering the staggering number of lfos that can be hacked out of FUN generators, the waveshapers and all the layering available, the K2000 is extremely formidable as a sampler... Especially since you can use the VAST system like a V...

I was really interested in something like this a while ago, and searched for one of these in vain. I believe the Roland EF 303 does something similar as far as being a slider based midi pattern sequencer. My question was always whether or not a sequencer like this would be capable of sequencing othe...

Well, there was absolutely nothing in either manual about keyboard repair, just tons of signal flow and wiring diagrams. I understand the mechanism is supposed to be identical to the one in the DW-8000 (?) but I haven't had any luck locating any info regarding DW-8000 keyboard repair either. The sea...

I love my DSS-1 as well. It really has a character all its own once you start throwing in some grungy digital waves. Mine is pretty mint, other than 1 key which doesnt respond (though it *does* transmit aftertouch). the keybed is a pretty daunting looking closed system. Anyone know how to get it ope...

<Edited coz I'm an idiot...> Actually, the amp isnt completely out, just very lower in volume. I suppose thats as good as out though. The only other issue now, is that one of the black keys produces no sound. I can tell that it sends aftertouch info, but it doesnt seem to produce a note-on. any idee...

whoops
Upon further listening, it appears that it IS one of the amps. Every eigth note is missing the signal from one oscillator. Same questions regarding the chip, its availability and ease of installation apply.
Thanks again,
Joshua

Korg dss-1 voice out (VCF?)
Hello everyone. I made the purchase of a Korg DSS-1 today for what I thought was a steal. Turns out there were a few issues. I was able to fix the mechanical problems almost immediately, and to my delight the disk drive is 100% functional. However, it seems that one of the voices is out. Every eigth...
