Re: Why do U like the Electribe ESX1 so much???
Coming from a 2000XL with 21 seconds sample time and an ES-1 with 95 seconds stock, the ESX will all of 4 minutes was a step up for me  I could always use more sample time though, but in many instances ive learned to just live with what i have and make the most of it. "When sampling short piece...

Re: Why do U like the Electribe ESX1 so much???
For a samplist such as myself the ESX is a dream machine come true...for all the reasons mentioned and than some. I also just recently acquired an EMX..and i cant say anything bad about it, I LOVE IT :D Korg has managed to create quite a line with these electribe machines, i have no doubts whatsoeve...

Re: Any all-ES-1 songs out there?
I use my ES-1 all the time by itself to make songs/beats etc.....
Sometimes i'll use my microkorg with it via midi for more complex song arrangements.
But other than that.....Most everything i make on the ES-1 is 100% sample based.

Re: Apocalypse now soundtrack: synth/gear breakdown
Great OST!
I have it on vinyl. Made a few instrumentals out of some of the tracks on it.
I'll post them in the listening lounge.

One of those cheap casio tone bank keyboards.
Believe it or not, their were a few presets that casio had on these cheapies that sounded quite good.

What a brilliant mind.
....Sometimes i ponder what the electronic music world would of been like had Bob not been born?

Re: Korg ES-1 mk1/2 - Sound quality?
What a classic machine. I bought mine back in 2001 right around the time that it first dropped on the scene. It was my first real sampler with a sequencer, and i actually preferred using it over my MPC 2k which i would get a year later. And yes the sound is quite Thick, warm, crisp and FAT....LOL al...

Re: Kraftwerk sample case overturned
Its a sad state of affairs in music when people i.e. buttholes try to lay claim over such trivial nuances such as chords, drum one shots and what have you. What a detraction, a regression...STAGNATION these out for a dollar attorneys and bloated rock ego's have had on the evolution of modern music. ...

Re: MPC 2000XL :(
Yeah the craftsmanship that must of went into building the 2k is obviously not as good as say the work that must of went into building the 3000 and 60 when roger linn was still around. Akai took a noticeable turn for the worst after he left with Quantity overriding QUALITY! My hardly used but kept i...

Re: MPC2000XL - WTF am I gonna do with it?!
Im in the same boat as you. I bought a 2000xl back in 2002. I immediately kind of regretted dropping 1300 on it...as 21 seconds standard memory and no effects was and is rather stone age. I was using my Korg ES-1 more than my 2k, and i still do :o Fast forward to now, my 2k is sitting in a corner in...
