Re: David Sancious's comment on vintage gear (keyboard mag)
Never heard of him, but now that I looked him up he looks like the typical backing band guy to abandon it all for a Kronos.

Re: Request an analog on Roland's Facebook page!
The thing is volumetrik, you come here with this fantasy hoping people here will be on board with it, when in reality everyone but you realises it would be a much better use of your time Sorry, but I side with Volumetrik. Maybe a majority of people here may think, but not everyone. It is certainly ...

Re: Request an analog on Roland's Facebook page!
Couple that with the fact that (this has been said before) Roland seem like a company that is bent on the future, so I can see how it would be counter-intuitive for them to revive something from the past, while also being very hesitant to halt in their tracks. Analog synthesis "becomes popular" som...

Re: When is it okay to scrap a synth for parts?
I personally don't believe in parts machines... while I have 3 octave cats at the moment that needed to be brought back to life, I only used 1 for parts to make one of the others work. I fully plan on getting it to work also, I have an HM2040 on its way since the filter is fried and lots of other st...

I personally love the smell of the Yamaha CS50-60-80. I think it is something to do with their choice of wood and tolex.

Re: How to test if a chip is faulty for dummies
'zaiusz for short. anyway if you really know what the function of the chip is then you can be: ie. checking that a schmidt trigger really is outputting a square wave signal from its outputs or the cpu is outputting multiple strings of data on an oscilloscope or this or that but you need to know what...

Re: How to test if a chip is faulty for dummies
The only real way is to swap it with one you know works somewhere else on the board and see if the problem moves. Make sure your desoldering skills are sufficient and your work area is static free.

Just reading this thread brings to mind most of my guitar buddies who get really angry if you change their 3 knob pedal settings....

Re: Synths giving out quiet constant tone.
Also if the above doesn't work you may need to clean the pins for the connectors between boards. When the ground pins oxidize sometimes this can happen in some synths.

Probably the first mod I do to mine will be to put the output on the back where it belongs!! hah. Then figure out how to turn the original output jack into a pwm input.

Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green
I should not have said 'painted'. Sorry about that. But, it has been molded with that color. I've seen too many of them over the years. If I'm wrong about the SNES, I am wrong. Now, the SH looks like the green has been painted over the grey. I will try to get some good pictures tonight. Maybe this ...

Re: ARP Odyssey 2800 CV/Gate/Trigger modification
In theory you could just look at the service manual for a mark 2 and implement the same circuit.
