Re: New korg maxitribe. real or not?
why would you think they had a team of analogue design engineers just waiting there to pull out an analogue synth they've been sitting on? To be fair, they are sitting on a lot of resources for their own designs... and certainly to be an electronics engineer analog circuitry would be a piece of cak...

Re: Kits
Never tried any others but can vouch that mfos kits are great... they sound amazing but are a bit complex to build for a first. It's always good to make sure whatever you are building has an active forum community to help if you are having any problems with a build.

Re: memorymoog problems
They are notorious for their problems because of the ribbon connectors inside. Perhaps a re-seating is all it needs. When I bought mine it had a character out on the text display, but I do not lie on Bob Moogs last birthday it started working ever since. Very strange coincidence but I imagine someth...

Re: Closest DCO synth to Jupiter 8 in a tone perspective
...the jp8000 sounds the closest to a jupiter 8 than anything else out there. Take away all the fancy controls/interface/arpeggiator and especially the supersaw etc from the 8000, you have a filter that sounds just like the jp8, especially when you crank the resonance and tweak the cutoff, the cros...

Re: Sequential Circuits serial numbers?
Interesting, then I assume it must have been one of the very few Rev 1's? Mine is a Rev 3 it's serial is 0201... I wonder how many were produced for each revision..synthparts wrote:I used to have Prophet-10 SN 002.

Re: Kiwi-3p - Experiences?
also the sound is slightly different from an original 3P, not better or worse, just not the exact same. Maybe since new sounds are possible with detuning, unison and new envs. I have a modded 3p and an unmodded 3p. They still sound the same as far as oscillator waveforms and sound in general. Not s...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
So far I've not been too happy with it. It only came with a foreign power cord for the adapter. I tried my laptop cord which fit in its adapter, and a 110 to 240 reverse converter for those types of prongs, they both let it power up and it says on the adapter 100 to 240v input, they worked so that ...

Larry "synergy" Fast is without doubt one of my favorite synthesists (I have all his albums). Larry is best known for his series of electronic music albums recorded under the project name Synergy, and also for his work with Peter Gabriel back in the '70s and '80s. I wish that Larry had done more mo...

Re: The synth that keeps on giving
Damn, I wish I had one... On top of my list, that's for sure! Reading about the update really makes me want to upgrade from my old indigo 2. What do you guys think, should I? Is the C engine obsolete these days? No way, Virus C series has a top-notch complete & powerful synth engine. Lots of fun st...

Re: Kiwi-3p - Experiences?
As for adhmzaiusz keeping KIWI-3P even with JP-8 around, I assume that it's because of the velocity/aftertouch - none of his other analog Rolands do that. Haven't tried that yet.. in order to use those features you need to play with a controller that has V/AT. I just like the sound of the 3p, it ha...

Re: Kiwi-3p - Experiences?
It's pretty cool. It's just about now not buggy enough to use. I am one firmware rev behind the current release, and sometimes it won't boot. If I adjust the filter using MIDI CC while holding down a note, it usually freaks out. I haven't used mine with midi cc's yet, but it has never crashed or fr...
