The worst thing about the Poly 800 is that when you pull the plug out, it still makes sound because of the batteries inside.

Runs on batteries = not the sign of a classic analog synth...

There's a setting in the Voyager that saves the value of the Master and Headphone volume with the patch. This might explain why you had to keep turning down the sounds.

As for the other problems, no machine is infallible. It probably needs service.

Yeah, it looks like the worst burn is on the back. I'm sure it will look much better than before when it's finished, and the finishing will smooth out the differences anyway. It's not like he messed up the refinish on a '68 Les Paul or anything. "Dude, the tone!!"

Voyagers would be overpriced if no one bought them, but I think they do OK. Mine lands on Monday. You pay a price for nice wood, pots, backlit front panel, semi-discrete, made in USA, etc. I would have settled for an SE-1 if I was more cash strapped, but knowing me I would still want the Voyager and...
