Vintage AceTone Canary Organ info anyone? Pics

Post by tomcurrie » Mon Sep 08, 2008 7:07 pm

I found this at a yard sale the other day. It looks really cool and I'm trying to find out some info on it. I know that AceTone turned into Roland back in the 60's. Thats about all I know. Does anyone know if it has any value? I'm a collector of old synths and I'm excited to add this one to my collection.

The Canary is one of the earliest products from AceTone. It came out in 1964 and is a monophonic instrument similar to the Clavioline. Being a rare keyboard from the 60's it should have some value as a collector's item.

Do you know anywhere where I could find the schematics for it? It powers on but I'm not getting any output from it.
What would you guess the value would be?

Info on the Canary is non-existant on the web. It is apparently extremely rare here in the USA. There may be Japanese sources for schematics if you knew where to look. If you have the funds a good tech could probably figure it out without a schematic. Maybe contact Ray Klos in New Jersey. He works on 60's organs and might know something about it. http://ray4376.home.att.net/

A thread on the Canary just started up on the Yahoo! Combo Organ Group. One of the guys there has one.
