Re: What instrument is my avatar?
No idea, but if you zoom in, down the right side you have:
clap
symbol
?????
bass
snare
mix
So obviously some kind of drum synth.

I have one, but it's only mostly working. If you know where I can find schematics or even an owners manual, I'd be most grateful.

That's not an AKAI MPC.
No 808 either.

I managed to figure out what it is, but I searched amongst your older posts to find out so I'm not sure if that classifies under cheatingVxster wrote:Just a bit of fun....older members please don't spoil it!!

Don't forget to TURN ON THE SYNTHESIZER. Often this is the reason why you get no sound out of it. - ARP 2600 manual, 1971

BTW, it's one of those machines I always would have loved to give a try myself.

Hmm... does it start with a V? I see some online photos that look similar, but most of them seem to have white panels, although I found one pic of one with a black panel.
Switches, knobs, buttons, LEDs, LCD screens, monitors, keys, mice, jacks, sockets. Now two joysticks!
Re: What instrument is my avatar?
Lol, I already guessed it a while ago, I just chose not to say the exact answer. Unique looking machine! I would like to try one out someday.
Re: What instrument is my avatar?
It's fairly clear from reading the posts above that many of us knew what it was already....megamanx wrote: do I win, or ruined the fun?

Re: What instrument is my avatar?
It´s a computer. There was also a "kit". But you didn´t have to build it.
