Korg 01W owners: a little help
Now that my 01R/W is officially dead and I got Motif XF (MOXF to be exact), I have a favor to ask.
Can anyone record dry samples that make A27 Analog Pad? I'm trying to recreate it on Motif - I almost got it, but still it sounds a bit different.

I've googled my heart out to try and find it. Only found references in patch lists, sorry.
Re: Korg 01W owners: a little help
I wouldn't ask if I knew they're out there. The good news is I'll probably resurrect my 01R/W cheaply, so I won't need an "emulation".Bitexion wrote:I've googled my heart out to try and find it. Only found references in patch lists, sorry.

Bumping - not believing no one has 01/W anymore...

Hi,
I know this thread is dead old, but I can record the dry samples.
Do I understand correct, that you want to have a recording of the multi sounds, correct?
At what key shall I record them?

A+E across a few octaves would be good, dry samples, no effects or filter - but keep a full loop cycle.
Although I already have more or less faithfully recreated the sound on Motif, having source material would be good to make it sound authentic as Yamaha doesn't have exact samples (although it has a the same sample named SynString on Korg - about 3 seconds longer)

Do I sense a hint of sarcasm?

Re: Korg 01W owners: a little help
Okay, I am now on a business trip and will return next friday .. I will then record the two samples.
The samples in question are exactly two (no wonder it is a program).
127 AnaStrings
129 PWM
Both are actually very short and also pretty much simple.
Also they have Multisamples changing on C so I guess that the original sample is best at G.
I still can sample it on A and E, however I am not sure if that makes a lot of sense.
Please confirm.
From my point of view, you would also need all the Sound settings of that sound. Do you already have it, or shall I photograph it as well?
Also were do you want me to upload the Audiofiles?
For me to keep the effort low, I will put all the samples in a single file for each multisound. So you would need to cut them out. To make it timed in a good way, I will use sequencer to play the keys in a very stable timing ensuring you have full loop and also allways the same timing between the notes. I will send you this amazing midi file, so you know exactly when what key has been played at what time and have the correct pitch.
Regards Ser

You can sample different key as long as the sample has a full loop. I kind of remember the settings (because I actually modified the program to suit my needs). Just let me know if there's any waveshaper setting I forgot. The files should be pretty small so you can use any free service like wetransfer, or even dropbox
Re: Korg 01W owners: a little help
Okay thanks.
I am back from a business trip now and will record this weekend.
Cheers

Okay,
here we go.
You can download the zipped .wav fiiles for both Multisounds here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing
The file name is:
01w_Multisounds127_129.zip
The sounds have been recorded with 48khz/24bit with a scarlet 6i6 interface and are raw recording without any postprocessing. Gain level has been set individually on each to assure best waveform capture.
I have recoreded within the limits of the synth with E and A keys starting at E0 up to A7 ... beyond C8 there is not sound output anymore.
Regarding the Waveshaping setting of the A27 Analog Pad:
WS is off for both voices. But Emphasis is on for Voice 1 (127 AnaString) with Intensity=77 out of 99
Please let me know if you want anything different.
