It's Official: Korg to Release a Full Size ARP 2600

Post by AnalogKid » Sat Apr 01, 2017 12:49 pm

It's the day that many of us have been waiting for. Korg will be releasing a full size ARP 2600. It will not be an 86% mini version. It will be a full size recreation of the original that will sell for an estimated $2,600.

As with the Odyssey re-release, the ARP 2600 will be available with different panel styles, but the controls and keyboard will be the same for all panel styles. You can choose from the "Blue Meanie" panel, the "Gray Meanie" panel, or the later black and orange panel. As with the Odyssey, the ARP 2600 release will also include the option for the user to select among the various filter types used with the original 2600s, these include the earlier 4012 filter and the later 4072 filter.

Here's a link to some photos and info. According to this page, the ARP 2600 will start shipping in October 2017:

Joke's on us now!

It appears that Korg is getting ready to do a KARP 2600 reissue in 2020, per none other than Jean Michel Jarre who spilled it in a phone video a few days ago. Just google "Korg 2600" for more info.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Maybe the rumored mini version of the KARP 2600 reissue will hit the $2600 price point!

Hopefully they manage to hit the $2600 price point with the rumored KARP 2600 "mini" version!
