DX7II with Grey Matter questions
1. How the h**l do I play into my sequencer (MSQ700) different patches? They all are same sound. The E! Card should have provided multimberal. There has to be a way to turn it on if you will in the E card.

Especially so..madtheory wrote:Ya, it's not user friendly. Welcome to [Yamaha in] the eighties

Yamaha crimes to sanity in the 80s include the QX1, RX5, TX16W... well, most things with an "X" weren't exactly case studies in accessibility, really..!

Yes. They totally killed the TX16W with their OS. Then Typhoon came along, probably best sampler OS ever.

I remember reading somewhere that Yamaha "philosophers" felt that instruments were supposed to be hard to play. Ergo the "gift" of Yammy madness.
(Maybe put the E card in SE!quencer mode?)

Re: DX7II with Grey Matter questions
I have yet to try "SE!quencer mode" as I assumed it was their onboard sequencer rather than out to an external sequencer. Maybe Ill try this. I have yet to get this working. I may annex the MSQ and just do Auria on an iPad.zukskywalker wrote:I remember reading somewhere that Yamaha "philosophers" felt that instruments were supposed to be hard to play.
