Yamaha TG33\SY22 sound

Hello.

I'm really Interested in the Yamaha TG33, and i got a good option to buy a SY22
can someone tell me if they sound exactly the same?

Yeah, it's the same guts, although the TG33 has an additional bank of presets.

Not the same!!!!

TG33 has 32 voice polyphony, SY22 is only 16 voice. Big deal becasue patches that use all 4 elements burn 4 voices per note.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Ah, I stand corrected. Although: correct me if I'm wrong, but four-element patches don't take up four voices of polyphony, but two, since the FM and PCM elements are not interchangeable, no?

Each element uses up a voice, you can have up to 2 PCM and up to 2 FM. If you use all four in a patch, it uses four voices.
