The Ensoniq Fizmo has gotten near $2500 on eBay. Two of 'em. Fizmo has become as overrated as the Alesis Andromeda. Anyone else have any peeves that they would like to own if the prices weren't pegging on the insanity meter? I wouldn't mind having both of these but I prefer food and electricity on a regular basis.

I thought the price for a Jupiter-8 was nuts when people were asking $4500 - 5000. Now it's pushed into the bizarre, rarefied world of 5-figures, at least asking price, anyway...
The LAMM Memorymoog is even worse.

Don't even get me started on an Oberheim 4-Voice...

I always assumed the Fizmo was simply expensive due to it's rarity. Most user reviews I've read express that it sounds crazy/unique, but is a chore to use. There's one for sale here locally for $1200, which is still too much for me to consider.
From the wiki
"An estimated 500-2,000 were produced. 100-500 limited-run rack versions were also produced"

Even the Bottom of the Barrel synths with a decent sound are starting to climb. I was watching Ensoniq SQ racks, just to have one at my disposal w/o pulling out the keyboard. one week they were going for $80-120. The next week $250-300+ Its funny how these things just spike, all of a sudden.

Hyde, it's the people who got them for $80-120 are now selling them for $250-300.

I'd sell mine for $250!

are you also asking for synthesiser you think are overrated too? if so... Guess I'm the only one with the big enough balls to just sit here and say.. SH101... bite me.
and that's not because I don't own one, I've owned it before and I think for the price they go for now, a BIT overrated, maybe not fully overrated.

I'll wait months for a special price to come along. I got a Prophecy for $220, and it only needed some padding on the aftertouch strip to make it work better. Z1 for $550, when they're going for $1000. I don't mind buying broken or malfunctioning gear, as long as it doesn't require looking for irreplaceable parts, and there's a severe discount. Got a Kurzweil K2000R for $130 and a Minibrute without a keyboard for $75. The Z1 needs a new pushbutton pot under the display, I think. Just waiting is the hard part. There aren't any shops in my town that have much of this stuff and I don't have a car, anyway.

I prefer to look at the sold items listings instead.
Too bad many items are now sold to the "best offer" but Ebay doesn´t tell what the final price was. That would give a real idea of the current values.

Very true. Asking prices are often delusional.
